As it has been over all the years that we have eaten at the Irving Big Stop Restaurants - mostly the
Enfield location but others over the years when we travelled more - we have always looked forward
to our meals there and were more than pleased with the service as well.
Now we are older now and don't get to go that often, but will tell you we as family, my husband, and
two sons now in their 50's enjoyed the meal yesterday.
The food is always the best and we know how difficult it is to keep everything as warm as it could
be with a large crowd waiting for food. Everything was so good, BUT what I am going to say is
not complaining but something the kitchen staff might think about in the days ahead.
The turkey dinner I had was delicious and the turkey was A1 except the slice on the top where
I could see had to be heated in the microwave, from experience chicken and turkey or meats
heated in the microwave need to be covered or we get that top piece dried out and not easy
to eat.
My son had the pan fried haddock and said he was a bit disappointed as it seemed to have
been cooked ahead and rather dry, again maybe reheated. Haddock takes very little time to cook
and is always tasty when done fresh..
NOW please understand we all enjoyed the service and the presentation of the meals
and more but felt it could be useful to share our thoughts for those to consider as they
prepare the orders.
Thank you to each one for all you do to make this a special place to look forward to eating at.

today i sat instead of waiting to be seated... I am a truck driver on a tight schedule and dont have the time to stand in line.... any the waitress came to me and asked if i seated my self and i said yes and she proceed to scold me and informed me that i am supposed to wait in line... i was rather insulted by her actions and left ..... she could have asked me if i knew what i wanted or would i like a menu could have even said hello.. first but oh no right to the tuning..yes my clothes were dirty and i looked like a street bum i haul a flat bed and had tarped my load with dirty tarps.... so i feel i was treated like a bum / street person... very insulting... and unprofessional waitress

we have stopped at the Irving Restaurant for the second and LAST time , our chicken was tough and our potatoes were cooked one or 2 days previous and even our carrots were cold never again ..whatever happened to the good food Irving used to serve

The food is great, deserts are tasteful, but your glass of medium milk size is small compared to the size in the
old Big Stop Restaurant. So stop the cut back and serve medium size like the other Big Stops do.

Grilled chicken burger with fries and coleslaw. $12.00. The "chicken" had absolutely no taste or texture. I even opened the bun to see what was inside. Seriously. The pale, tasteless thing on the boring white bun wore only a chewy slice of tomato and trace amounts of mayo. The texture of the "meat" was off-putting...as though it had been ground up and formed into a rectangle, although there was evidence of some meat grain. My husband also found it awful. I was very hungry and tried to eat it, but I left half of it on my plate. The server was nice about it and said he'd ask in back about what could be done, but he returned to say filling out the comment card was the way to handle it. Even the fries were pale and tasteless but the ketchup and mediocre gravy made them edible. The small serving of colourless coleslaw was OK.

First visit to new Enfield big stop for supper. Served by Timera. service was fast, however the Chicken for the chickeb burger was very hard around the edge, even the knife could not cut it,returned it and it came back the same way,at this point my husband was almost done, they came back with a grilled chicken burger. this looked like had been poached and put on tgrill for about one minute as there faint grill marks on it. I filled the survey card out but could not find a box to put it in so I left it on the table. was i recived? This was on Friday July 11 2014.Time 17:14 table #16.
