I was pleasantly surprised by the improved menu and food quality at this place. The dishes were delicious and I enjoyed my meal there. The ambiance was clean and inviting, with a good selection of Chinese and non-Chinese dishes to choose from.

Absolutely the best chineese food ever........ !!

Just ordered Chinese food and it was the worst I have ever had. To top it off, they delivered 2 egg rolls and 4 spring rolls, with no plum sauce. They also forgot the soya sauce. The General Goa's Spicy Beef was anything but spicy. It was bland. Their spring rolls were greasy. To top it off, I called and spoke with the owner. She hung-up on me.
It used to be my favourite Chinese restaurant, but since the ownership change, it has gone downhill. I won't order from them again.
There are two other good Chinese restaurants in Truro, plus a new Chinese restaurant, which have better Chinese food.
Too bad the Chow Family restaurant has gone downhill, since the ownership change.

I have been eating at The Chow Family Restaurant for more than twenty years (any time that I was passing through Truro). I've always enjoyed the food, especially the eggrolls. However, yesterday, I stopped for lunch at the Chow family. My husband and I ordered several dishes. The food was so cold, I thought it must have come from a nearby snow bank. The Chow family fried rice looked like it was saturated in soya sauce. I wasn't even brave enough to try it. It will be a long time if ever, to have a desire for Chinese food again. A huge disappointing experience.
