There's a new manager within the last few months. I'm assuming its changed a lot from the poor reviews below. I did not find one thing wrong with the service at all. The food was very good...the price was VERY reasonable.... 2 apps, 3 main course, and 3 deserts. Not even $200. Highly recommend popping in if you're in the area.

We were supposed to be in Venice, but weather kept us in the states - stranded in NYC over Christmas. After visiting the Frick with our son & daughter-in-law they gave us a list with Bella Blue & what a find for lunch. So good, we booked our Christmas Eve dinner here, too, for the entire family - six of us & we were treated to the best dinners - from the meats to fish to pasta. I'm ready to go back to NYC again, just for Bella Blue.

Fantastic restaurant. So good for lunch we returned for Christmas dinner the next night and we were not disappointed. The food and preparation is original, and the service is friendly, attentive and European (which is to say professional). The wine list is excellent and has moderately priced offerings. The meal prices, too, are reasonable for the Upper East Side. If you are searching for bargains, don't bother dining at Upper East Side. It was obvious that the restaurant attracts many regulars and neighborhood locals (including families with children, which added to the convivial atmosphere), a good sign that reinforced my own opinion. You will be glad you visited this restaurant.

No stars.
Below zero.
Stay away.
The waiter asked for our order then forgot all about us.
We had to ask the other waiters to bring us our drinks.
Then our bread.
When the meal came, it was the wrong fish.
They cooked the wrong fish.
Food was good.
But service was deplorable.
And the waiter never asked us if we wanted desert.
Just brought us the check.
Over $120 for two appetizers, main course, two glasses of wine and NO desert.
Do NOT go to this overpriced trap.

The waiter and manager clearly were in cahoots, attempting to add three bottles of wine to our bill. The waiter blamed it to the manager adding it to the wrong table. Very extensive wine list, what are odds two tables ordering same wine. Our guess is they were not happy that everyone did not order an appetizer and that one patron did not order an entree. very sleazy.
