Horrible experience and customer service with every visit.
I’ve been to bagel street cafe on 3 separate occasions, each visit gets worse and worse
The first visits a few months, ago I ordered a bagel sandwich and they messed up the order by adding condiments and produce I asked to leave out. -but no worries I just picked them off and gave them the benefit of the doubt.
On our 2nd visits my fiancé and I order the BSC that comes with turkey, cheese and avocado. We waited 15 minutes and was given two BSS which comes with chicken and avocado.
I politely go back to the counter and tell the young man “we ordered the BSC that comes with turkey” the employee replies with “no you didn’t, I remember your order you said BSS” so now I’m arguing with their employee and he finally agrees to remake our sandwiches. I say thank you, and I apologize for the confusion.
10 minutes pass and I go back in to see if it’s ready. I hear the same young man bad mouthing me to a coworker saying how I’m wasting food and that I ordered wrong etc. At this point I wanted to cancel the order and go elsewhere but again gave them the benefit of the doubt.
The third and final visit was today. My fiancé wanted bagel sandwiches for lunch so I decided to give bagel street cafe one more shot. We are in around 11:15 and beat the lunch rush, no more than 2 customers in line.
We order, I get the last marinara bagel that I’ve been wanting to try for months. A middle aged lady takes our order and starts making the sandwiches.
25 minutes go by and still no sandwiches. The same lady(that we ordered from and was making our Sandwiches) approached us as we are sitting and asked; what we are waiting on, I reply with “the two BSC that we ordered 25 minutes ago” she goes on and says “oh I’m sorry we gave your order away to another customer, we are all out of the marinara bagel so you have to come back up to reorder your food with a different selection”
At this point I’m dumbfounded. We were 1 of 2 customers in the facility, you would think the lady who took our order AND made our sandwich would remember who it belongs too. Not only that but it took them 20 minutes to realize we were waiting on food, come on- we were practically the only customers in there at the time as they had 5 staff members working..
There was no attempt on their part to make it right, other than sorry. You would think they would comp our sandwiches for the time and mistake on their part but no. I’m not looking for a free hand out, but when a business drops the ball it’s best to make it right with your patrons.
I went ahead and cancelled my order as they had already taken up enough of my time and we had to get going. Having to return to work on an empty stomach sucks, but I can’t, in good conscience, justify giving them anymore business considering how little they care for their customers.
From now on I’ll drive the extra 3 minutes to get my bagels from Alameda Bagel and Donuts instead of bagel street cafe.
