Wife and I visited this restaurant in June 2012. Had a 15$ off certificate we purchased on the internet. Had to wait a very long time before a waitress came to take our order. Other customers that came in after us got up and left when they weren't waited on. We both ordered steak medium well. Both were burned on the outside and pink inside. Portions of everything were very small also. Our certificate said that an 18% gratuity would be added to the bill, so I asked the waitress about that since our service and food did not deserve a tip. She told us that they do not add this gratuity. We gave the waitress our credit card. Again we waited and waited and, when she didn't return, we went looking for her. We finally found her and she told us that the gratuity had been added. I then told her that I had a problem with that because of the poor service. She disappeared and finally someone else came to us with the bill, I assume this was the manager or perhaps the owner. I explained the situation and she still insisted on charging us the gratuity. I then wrote a letter to the owner asking that we be reimbursed for the gratuity. After two weeks with no response, I called the restaurant and had to leave a message. After serveral days with no return call, I went to the restaurant with a copy of my letter. The owner was not there. I gave the letter to one of the employees and told them to give it to the owner and that I expected to hear from her that evening. After not hearing from her the next day, I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and the state attorney general's office. Shortly thereafter I received a letter of apology along with a $25 gift card. Last evening we went to the restaurant and were surprised to see a sign on their door saying that the restaurant was closed. No other information was posted. I guess we shouldn't be surprised they closed. This restaurant is by far the worst restaurant we have ever been to. And we are out the $25 gift card.
