I can't afford take out very often and I haven't had Chinese Food in so long. I had heard good things about Asia Wok so I decided to order from there. What a huge disappointment that was.
The Egg Rolls where burnt in places and the Bean Sprouts inside were dried out strings.
Both the Wonton and Hot & Sour Soups used Knorr Chicken Soup Base/Stock. You could tell by the unnatural yellow colour. I have never seen either type of Soup with that colour before. Besides the colour, the Hot & Sour Soup was lacking the complex blend of flavours of a good Hot & Sour Soup. While there was heat, not the proper type, there was no sour component whatsoever! Both Soups really lacked salt and flavour. Surprisingly, the filling in the Wontons was quite nice.
The Chicken Fried Rice was overly greasy, seriously lacking salt and flavour. I also found pieces of Chicken Skin and Fat in the Fried Rice. The bottom of the take out container was covered in a film of oil at least 1/8” thick.
The batter for Shrimp was undercooked and very, very greasy. Instead of being a nice golden brown it was medium beige.
The Lemon Chicken was also a huge disappointment. The Chicken pieces were overcooked and the ends were dry and hard. The portion size was lacking. The Lemon Sauce wasn't bad though.
