Just came from a sorry excuse for a Sunday brunch. There were 9 of us and we arrived at 10:20 AM. Ray's Boathouse accommodates 45 - 50 people and it was full - but only 2 servers....that should have been the key clue. After 15 minutes, no one had taken a coffee order. I got up and asked one of the ladies for coffee and after 25 minutes, we got coffee and the server took our order. Everyone ordered some variety of eggs/bacon/pancakes. The "food" was served to us at 11:30 AM and pancakes were like leather on the outside and doughy on the inside. I ordered bacon and eggs with rye toast and the toast never came.
People at other tables were complaining that they couldn't get coffee refills, bacon wasn't done properly, orders were mixed up and the very worst thing is that NO ONE took ownership for the debacle. The waitress said, "Well, we are busy you know" and not once, did she or the manager come to the table to apologize for the atrocious service.
Ray's has about 10 flatscreens and they may serve good roadhouse wings etc., but if you want breakfast or brunch, keep on driving. This place has a dirty kitchen, terrible food, filthy bathrooms and should not be open to the public.
