review_stars 03/17/2009 - Where's the stromboli?
This is just a small place. Nothing special about the inside. They use to make a stromboli that blew me away. I would drive 16 miles from my house to this place to have lunch. When they brought the stromboli out it looked like a sub roll that had been cut in half. The crust was smooth and golden, the ham, cheese and pepperoni started to come out a little where it was cut. The sauce was to die for and then something happened. I don't know if they got a new cook or just made the mistake of changing the way they made their stromboli, but it was never the same again. It lost that wonderful taste that kept me coming back maybe 3 times a week. I've never been able to find another stromboli like it and God knows I've tried. Maybe some of you older people out there will understand it in this way, ...... remember the wonderful apple pies that McDonald's use to have? The wonderful crust they had. Now when you go to McDonald's, if ever, they have this damn thing that is like eating a sneaker filled with apples. It isn't the same and it never will be. Why when people get it right do they always seem to want to make it better and fail?
