“Electric Eel, no thanks!”

We have visited this place twice now. The first time we went, we made a reservation for teppanyaki and we arrived on time, we waited at the table for 1 hr and 20 minutes before the chef arrived. The owner of the place came by once (1 hr. later) to inform us that the chef was running late and offered us one free beverage as compensation for the long wait, which was just a lame gesture.....We finished our meal and didn't revisit the place for months, when we did our experience was very similar to the first one and after waiting for 50 minutes, I asked the server to bring the manager over to our table. He arrived and told us the greeter shouldn't have told us the wait would be less than 20 minutes, making us feel guilty about believing the greeter. I told him that we were just hungry and that we also had a similar experience last time we were here. He became defensive and almost agitated. I told my fiancé we should pay for our drinks and just leave, the owner was in our faces with a confrontational attitude arguing with us! As we were leaving I told him that I would share my experience on a Internet website with others. If you don't have anything better to do, go ahead he mockingly responded. Overall a horrible experience, the food is mediocre and overpriced and the service is terrible. Our recommendation is to stay away from the Electric Eel, you will get much better food and service at Benihana which is the same concept, except leaps and bounds better.
