After living in San Francisco half my life ( and growing up the child of a Filipino mother, and Greek-Czech father, meaning I eat everything from grape leaves and falafel to pancit and lumpia), I have come to despise "delicate" tastes and thoroughly appreciate a flat out good, rich dinner. This place has it. Fairly cheaply priced, though the wait for takeout could be shorter, the food comes out in stuffed full containers, hot and fresh. Many rag on the place for its neon pink, hand written signs in Chinese on the wall, along with its poor, tortured looking fresh seafood, still alive in tanks, but taped at the claws or obviously starving and hungry (judging by the way they snap at a finger outside the glass). The occasional dead fish appears in the tank, and at times you cannot help but wonder about the nutritional value of what you are eating, if it doesn't appear to be eating anything prior to you eating it. Nonetheless, most of us flock to these places not seeking a dish fit for the skinny supermodel or fitness trainer. We want saucy, rich, starch, the whole shebang! Try the crystal shrimp- a smaller version of the tasty honey walnut prawns offered at many places- and the house chow mein. You actually have as much beef, chicken, pork, and shrimp as vegetables and noodles in the dish, so one order of this stuff (about 7.95) will suffice to feed a few people as a "meal in itself". It's like a Chinese pad thai: everything you need is in there in sufficient quantities. But don't take my word for it; I'm just an overeating half and two quarters-breed. Take a look at the dining area on any given night, and you'll see 99%, if not 100%, Asian guests. Who better to judge the area's trademark food than the locals who know it best?

This place is pretty darn good. Been going here for 25 years. Same owner, good prices, great Cantonese food. Many other reviews talk about this place being dirty and dingy, and that is somewhat true. But obviously, it cannot be that bad since the Dept of Health hasn't shut them down. I will admit that it is not the cleanest and brightest place, but the food is great. I know good Cantonese food. Been to great ones in LA, SFO, NYC, Hong Kong, Honolulu, etc. etc. and this one is probably in the top 3 in Phoenix. I would rate it at about a 8.5 out of a scale of 10 for great Cantonese food across the nation.
