OMG.... the best, the best, the best. I have tried ALL restaurants Mid East here in Pittsburgh and this by far is #1. It is small and their hours stink but worth the wait. This food is a mimic of my Grandmother in Lebanon. I was so homesick until I tasted Nellies, soups, sandwiches and whatever else she has on special. A must try.

You can't get closer to home-made cooking from a restaurant than Nellie's. Everything from the baklava to grape leaves are made from fresh ingredients. Try the hummus, tabbouleh, garlic chicken sandwiches (you will NOT be disappointed!), grape leaves, chicken & rice, gyros... really anything on the menu! Nellie's Sandwiches is by far the best restaurant in Pittsburgh. It's a shame that it is only open Monday through Friday, until 5pm. If I had my way, they would be all day, every day with a late-night drive-thru window.
