I Absolutely Love This Place, Great Food, Great Atmosphere, BYOB, The Cashier Is Funny & Sweet, Staff Is Great.
The Only Downside Is The Parking & Wait Time.
Try Everything! Food Is DELICIOUS!

Apsara is the real deal. Have been to the "original" and really didn't think it was
so much better. Mom came to our table and said,
"Next time I'll wait on you and you'll enjoy!"
We have not taken her up on the invite back.
By the way, Kim has opened up her newest place, next to the realtors on Hope street. Still has the same name, Gourmet House, but that's where
it ends. Kim has created a gem with a beautiful
restaurant and the same great food as well as
many tasty vegan dishes. Some dishes are a little pricier than Apsara but worth it!

This place is my number 1 for Thai food and in my top two for neighborhood eating. My personal record is 6 days in a row!!! I have been to both places but this one is my first and my favorite.

The parking is horrible but the food is delicious! The girl at the counter is cool very nice girl. The waiters could be better though. I had one issue though, there was some sort of bug crawling on the table almost resembling a roach with grossed me the f... Out! I would still take out from here though just fir the rice, soup, and their chicken wings YUM

Another thing about this so-called "fake Apsara" and a little correction. Owner of Apsara Palace, Kim, used to manage Apsara on Broad St. Which is owned by her mother. She then later quit to pursue her own Career in the restaurant business. Apsara is a commonly used in restaurant names as it has a deeper meaning to them than you think. Both parties consider the restaurants unrelated, as they see eachother as competition in the business for best Asian food. SO PLEASE DON'T THINK IT'S JUST ANOTHER FAKE WANNA RESTAURANT. THE PERSON WHO MADE APSARA'S ASIAN RESTAURANT, UP AND LEFT TO MAKE HER OWN PLACE WITH HER RULES. You know you'd kill yourself working under your mother, having to listen to her orders 24/7. But you have to wonder how does Kim continue to please her customers and try to win over displeased customers who seems to keep on coming back. I've seen very loyal customers already in the short time it's been open from firefighters, cops, nurses, students, hospitals, people from NYC, Boston, Jersey, even locals from neighboring cities such as Warwick who comes to eat everyday. Slowly day by day I see new improvements they've been making to improve themselves. Such as those new pictures they added, +++ on atmosphere for me!

One of the greatest restaurants in Providence, hands down! The menu is extensive, the staff are friendly (though sometimes limited,) and the atmosphere is one of a cafeteria/lunch room which gives it a very intimate feel. Although there is usually a wait, it's kept minimal and it's well worth the wait to be seated to eat their delicious food! Thanks Apsara, keep up the good work!

this place is GREAT! I love their food. I won't get involved in the debate on whether or not this is the real Apsara or not. I've been to both of them and I have to say that this one is as good as the original on Public St. The food is very tasty and everything that i've orders has never let me down. I highly recommend this place to anyone!

review_stars 10/16/2007 - FAKE APSARA's
Want atmosphere? Come to this Apsara's. Want THE BEST FOOD FOR THE BEST PRICE hands down? Go to the REAL APSARA'S on Public Street. We have been faithful to the REAL DEAL FOR 10 YEARS and there is NO subsitiute.

The menu is so extensive and everything I've had on it so far has been truly dielicious. I love it!!!

From the styrofoam containers that have sucked the crispness from your take-out order to the bland sauces purporting to be something they're simply not, this place had to be one of the worst restaurants I've had the displeasure of frequenting. I'm going to finish this review by conferring with my 10 year-old self and say "Yuck!".

I think this Apsara is as good as the Apsara on Public Street, better neighborhood too. They have the best Pad Thai I've ever had. It is not greasy at all. It is always packed and on the weekends you need a reservation or plan on standing in line for a long time.

review_stars 04/22/2007 - The Truth
Don't be fooled. This is NOT the Aspara that people drive from Boston for. This is a sad knock of with bland, greasy food. They stole the name and have been feeding of the real thing ever since. We caught on after one order, but if you've never been to the original you might never realize what you're missing...

I've ordered and shared many dishes here and have never tasted one that was not delicious. This is the restaurant I crave whenever I am in Rhode Island.

review_stars 02/20/2007 - Suzanne
The best asian restaurant in Rhode Island so far. The vegetables were as fresh as can be and the flavor was delightful on my palatte. I would visit this place over and over again if I had the money but then again the price isn't bad at all that I could do it.

Eat The Green Curry Soup !!!

review_stars 12/19/2006 - Sarah
Hands down, one of the best Asian restaurants in New England. It even rivals top-rated restaurants in Boston's Chinatown! Friends who lived China have told me Apsara's cuisine is the closest they've found to authentic chinese food in the States. The bare-bones atmosphere and urban neighborhood only add to the charm. This is Providence's best kept secret!
