Anthony and Chris Tarro own and manage Siena. The brothers were raised in Rhode Island, and their family has deep roots in the Italian-American community on Federal Hill. Anthony's passion for food began at home watching his mother prepare meals for the family. He began working in food service in high school and has not stopped since. He is a graduate of the RI School of Design - Culinary Arts Program and earned his bachelor's degree in Food Service Management from Johnson and Wales University. He has studied Tuscan cuisine in Bologna, Italy. Anthony has spent 20 years mastering his specialty of Italian cuisine. His accomplishments include being honored as chef of the year by the RI chapter of the American Culinary Federation and acting as chef for President George H. Bush on a visit to Rhode Island. Chris shares his brother's passion. He too has spent the better part of his life working in food service. He is an accomplished businessman, specializing in the food and beverage industry. He holds a bachelor's degree in marketing from Syracuse University and received his MBA from the University of Maryland. He studied economics at the Bocconi University in Milan, Italy. Siena evolved out of Anthony's ardor for Tuscan cuisine, which is fresh, simple and unfettered. Time spent in Italy has had a significant impact on Anthony and Chris. The traditions of Tuscany have forever changed their conception of the art of the meal. The idea of translating these traditions to a modern American setting seemed very exciting to both. Hence, Siena - Tuscan Soul Food was born.

I went to Sienna on a Sat. night around 9pm with some friends of mine. It was packed with people, however their was plenty of seating. It was a bit noisy and busy.
We received our food in a reasonable amount of time. The food was AMAZING!!!!! We loved everything we ordered.
Our bill was $133.00 (3 people)
-3 entrees (steak & 2 seafood dishes)
-3 sides
-3 beverages
-2 drinks
That is a good deal! That's less than $45.00 a person. The food was worth the price. I highly recommend Sienna

I went a couple weeks ago and ordered a fish dish with four scallops. After taking a bite of my second scallop I saw it was pink. It was totally raw. When I brought it to the waitresses attention she took it away. About ten minutes later a woman came out walking by all the tables very quickly asking if everything was OK, not even waiting for a response. I had to yell out to her to come back. When I told her about the scallop, she laughed and said the owner was on that station and she laughed. She came out again about ten minutes later offering me desert. I declined. I thought the owner would of come out since he is the one who put the scallop on my plate. I went into the restraint to discuss this with the owner. After he said yes he put the scallop on my plate and I told him it would of been nice for him to come out and apologize, he flipped out on me. Screaming to get out of his restraint and don't tell him what to do in his restraint. I then came back at him and it got very ugly. I can not believe an owner would treat a customer like that. I believe he dropped a scallop off the plate and grabbed a raw one, drizzled sauce over it hoping I would not notice. Wow, would never go back. My husband and I love the hill but that is one place I will never visit again. I happen to know the owners can cook and don't treat customers like they are dirt.

Outstanding food presentation. Great service. All food was very well-prepared. Atmosphere was lively and friendly in the bar. First timer and well-worth the 60-mile trip for a great evening out. One suggestion - need for slightly stronger drinks and less ice in glass.

Nothing better than heading to Sienna on a Thursday, Friday, or Saturday night to enjoy a great meal and taking in the sights and sounds of historic Federal Hill.
