A group of 9 of us had reservations at 5:30pm on a recent Friday evening. What happened next was beyond belief. The short version is they were out of ginger ale, vegetables, mussels, a wine list, and a few other things I can't remember. Despite there being only one or two other people in the place, 6 of us didn't get out food for 2.5 hours. The other 3, who ordered perch, didn't get their food for another 30 minutes later. And they got walleye, which they tried to tell us was perch. Even harder to comprehend than the 3 hour wait for food was the fact that 8 or 9 of us didn't receive what we ordered- mashed instead of baked potato, mashed potato instead of wild rice, walleye instead of perch, scallops on pasta instead of rice, butter instead of cheese dipping sauce for a pretzel (which arrived burned black), a steak well done instead of medium, and on and on. Perhaps some of this could have been explained had they been extremely busy but there were only a few people in the place the entire time!
Absolutely the worst dining experience of my life. It got so bad we thought we were on Candid Camera.
This place has no business being in business. A 5 alarm dumpster fire.

I try to get their prime rib sandwich on every Sunday! It's great! You can tell their prime rib is good because some Sundays they don't have any left over from Saturday!! The whole staff is really great!!!

Just traveling through Wisconsin stopped in to get some food place was pretty nice the hostess waitress cute little honey I was thinking about taking her back to Arizona with me that other than that hey pretty good food real good choice about waitress so I'll make sure when I go back I definitely stopping BJ's and hopefully had pick up that little lady there I I give them a 4-star rating Elise gets a 10 star on her five star LOL I love you babe

This was the best meal that I have ever had. From the wine, to the entrée, to the dessert. The service was great and the atmosphere with the saxophone player made this a most memorable night. Kudos to the Chef!

Just had lunch there on Monday with friends and we all enjoyed the experience. It has new owners since August of 2014. They kept some of the old menu and have added other tasty dishes. The setting is an historic building built by the original Wentker. The back bar is spectacular! We had a steak sandwich, portobello mushroom sandwich, turkey sandwich and mandarin teriyaki chicken salad. None was a disappointment. The waitress was friendly and attentive.

Been stopping by this restaurant for several years, often good food and service with pleasant surroundings. Recently the food was pretty poor....caprese salad maybe two days old, and a pork chop reminiscent of cardboard and overdone. The bar room, dining room and restrooms need to be shut down for a day or two and thoroughly cleansed, this place is dusty and the managers are obviously not paying attention. Our waitress was superb and attentive, though her associate bartender was busy sharing a cocktail with the customers.
Time for this place to pick up the pace and pay attention to what they are doing. Our waitress was the only highlight. The manager needs to visit some better restaurants and appreciate what quality food, service and surroundings are really like.

Visited BJ Wentker's for lunch today. Service was very good! Food was also very good, nice and quiet dining room to enjoy our conversation and lunch. Will go back again!

I have been in there twice in the last few months. The first time, service was terrible, the second time it was much improved. Food is very good but their cole slaw is boring.

Food is great as always the service sucks compared to a couple years ago and before. The service was always great now it's sub par. Second time in four months I hope something changes soon as its hard to find a really great meal and great service in Burlington. Did owner ship change? It doesn't seam like any one cares except for the chef cooking the food! And too top it off a couple of older boys n the dining room appeared to be sons if the other waitress talking and caring on ... This would of never happened two years ago
