It's unfortunate that the service at Oriental Garden is so poor. I would like to describe my most recent experience. Tonight (Monday night), I went with my girlfriend for a nice dinner. It was pretty quiet. After we placed our order, we were the only customers in the restaurant. We were trying to have a quiet dinner but the staff were so incredibly loud and obnoxious. I decided too get one of the noodle bowls, and the server said "Oh we don't have those noodles, so no". I wish I were exaggerating. I didn't think too much of it and ordered a combo #5 instead. When we got our food, it was delicious as always. BUT, my girlfriend and I couldn't even maintain a conversation, as the staff was just goofing off and making a ton of noise. Not only were they shouting, but they were dropping silverware, laughing hysterically, and chatting loudly about previous customers. At some point, I got fed up with not being able to hear what my girlfriend was saying without asking her to shout, so I got up and told my server that I think the staff is WAY too loud and that we're trying to enjoy a nice quiet dinner. She then proceeded to go to the kitchen, shout "TABLE 7 SAYS WE'RE TOO LOUD AND THAT THEY WANT TO ENJOY A QUIET DINNER". It gets worse.
After that, the server brought us two take out trays and our bills, and said the following "You are welcome to put your food in these containers and leave. There is a front door (pointed) and a back door (pointed)". After that, the manager was arguing with me that they weren't being loud, and that if we wanted a quiet dinner, we "SHOULD HAVE GOTTEN TAKE-OUT". I was furious at this point, and said I didn't want to pay for the meals and wanted to leave. We had eaten about 1/3 of our food. The "manager" said she would call the police and that we would have to wait for them to arrive. I offered to pay a reduced price and leave the food behind, but of course, she said no. While my server was giving my description to the police over the phone, I said I'll just pay for it and we'll leave. The manager says "SO NOW YOU WANT TO PAY?!". I responded that she had 10 seconds to accept my payment, otherwise we were leaving immediately. At this point, she had no choice but to accept my payment. We paid, packed our food, and left.
I will admit that I absolutely love the food at Oriental Garden. Their service is among the worst service I've ever received, and I hope that people will be cautious before visiting this establishment. On a side note, if you want to enjoy a quiet dinner, be sure to get take-out.
Absolute trash service.
PS: This isn't the first time we've been treated poorly at that restaurant, but we went for the food, not the service. I never expected it to go that far though.
