Horrific experience that I will not soon repeat. Ordered 5 plates online. Went to pick them up and one of the orders was wrong. They gave me the missing item, but when I returned to work with everyone's food, we found other mistakes as well. Considering we only had a short time to eat, we didn't bother letting them know. The food however was the most disappointing part of all. I don't think they have a clue as to what seasoning is, especially salt, as everyone's food was horribly bland and tasteless. Potatoes were like glue and had no flavor (glue might have tasted better) - even the gravy had no flavor. Cornbread was like eating dry sand. Turkey was disgusting - like it came from a TV dinner. Turnip greens...OMG...the turnip greens......they tasted like wet straw mixed with a dash or two of sawdust. There wasn't a speck of seasoning in them AT ALL. Totally gross!! Then the black eyed peas.......undercooked and no seasoning in them. Most of it tasted like it came straight out of a can and was heated a little and then thrown on our plates. Not the homemade "Southern Soul Food" we were looking for. Everything seemed to be pre-packaged, canned and frozen food and not made fresh.
The only thing that I had that actually tasted homemade and had flavor was the skin on the fried chicken. If I could order just that, I might eat there again, otherwise I will stay clear. One person in our group had the smothered pork chop and said it was decent, but the rest of us agree that the chain restaurants in the area prepare much tastier meals.
