When I want a steak or Lobster, or basically anyrime to go out to eat, it’s here. They’re consistent, and consistently good. I believe the beef comes from Humphtys, which is good. Going thete Friday

Only restaurant I will go to when I'm craving a steak. I go back and forth between the Ribeye and New York strip. Service is always top notch.

Have been going here off and on since 1973. Love the filet and the fried lobster!

I am a local and have dined here for decades. The people who work there are always cordial. It may take a little while to get your food, because it is not Ponderosa or Sizzler..and they are only busy because lots of folks.i.e. satisfied return patrons eat there..Expect to take a little bit of time and enjoy a great dining experience. Best steaks in Springfield!

Food is good but drinks are weak. Will not order drinks again if we come back

If you want to enjoy a great steak at a reasonable price, this is definitely your place. Because it is so popular, if you go on a friday or sat night at prime time, expect some wait. But it is well worth the wait. Try it, compared to the chains, there is no comparison.

My daughter and her date plus 7 other friends went there this past weekend and had reservations for 6:15 p.m. as the Homecoming Dance began @ 8 - 10 that evening. The only thing they had was ice tea as it was very crowded, no explanation from the male waiter other than "I turned your order in - I will check on it." Well at 8 p.m. they had to leave WITHOUT ANY FOOD MIND YOU - ONLY THEIR DRINKS (ICE TEA) NOT A WORRY NOTHING. I finally got to speak to the owner/manager after leaving 3 message and no one would answer the phone until almost 10 p.m. that night. She she had to say for herself was that "we were extremely busy" and I told her that it ruined the kids evening as they intended to have a good meal then attend the HOmecoming - but NOT I GUESS. She would not do anything but say "What do you want me to do?" over and over. I finally got sick and tired of listening to those words and hung up on the WITCH for a lack of a better name. WORST SERVICE IN SPRING EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Had not eaten here in years. Went there a month or so ago and the food was great. Reasonable priced and the service was fantastic. Going again for our anniversary dinner. Manager went out of his way to make our dining experience enjoyable. Great job!

Horrible dining experience! It took an hour to get our food and then the steak was raw inside (we ordered med.) The waitress was rude and indignant that we wouldn't eat the raw steak. The manager is a total creep too...You might think that they would want the customer to be happy and return......they could care less! I guess they have enough drunks at the bar to keep their doors open. If you eat here after reading this....that's on you....you have been warned!

Terrible service last night, steaks were undercooked, service slow. When we asked if food was coming the manager asked if if we had a plane to catch. When the steaks arrived, they were undercooked, red, cold. This was pointed out to the manager and pointed at the door and told us to go, so we did. I had out of town guests, it was awful experience.

Old Lux is a quaint little place with excellent food. Its one of those comfortable neighborhood kinds of places that doesn't focus on useless trappings but pays attention to its service and product. The waitstaff was very attentive, food was served on a pleasant pace, and was quite good. I had the fried lobster, baked potato, and salad. I've enjoyed their fare many times over the last several years and they have never disappointed.

This place is awful. These people are living in the 1950s. The dining room has not been upgraded for decades. I ordered fillet Mignon rare and it was served well, well, well done and chewy. I think I was eating someone's pet. When I requested a rare steak, the waitress got very defensive and asked me what I expected for the price. I asked to speak with the manager and the waitress told me she was the manager. It was then that I told her that the place was filthy and a disgrace. She told me to go some place else if I didn't like it, so we left and had a nice meal elsewhere. I will never go back to this place.

Looking for a local Mom & Pop place, with reasonable prices and good quality food and service? If you are willing to travel some of the back streets of Springfield this is a great place to go. Had a T-Bone and French Fried lobster tail and it didn't break the bank. The steak was a good size larger than what I had at Alexanders a few nights before and actually had better flavor. The french fried tail was a unique experience. Will probably come back to sample something on there menu the next time I am in Springfield.
