This place has gone down hill....Taco Thursday is a cold uncooked flower shell with a glob of crap on it.

I reserved space for 16 adults and 2 children weeks in advance. This was for my Mom's 75th birthday and relatives from 3 states came to celebrate. Everything was great when we got there. They took the cake for us to have later and proceeded with our order. Things took a while, but that's to be expected with 16 people! By the time we had been served our drinks, appetizers, and dinners it had been about an hour and a half. *Please note that about a third of our party received steaks at the completely wrong temperature and with ingredients missing or added when not asked for. We let this go as we were a large group. The waiters were very nice. At the end of the meal (a couple of people were still eating) the waiter brought out our cake and enough plates for everyone. A moment later, a very angry woman named MICHELLE, asked us to leave. She said we had taken too long and another party had been waiting for the table for 20 minutes. I was NEVER given a time limit to our very large and expensive reservation. My mom's birthday cake lay unlit in front of her. I asked her if we could at least have the cake and let my dad finish his dinner. She got very upset. We all left as quickly as we could after we paid. I approached her to tell her how rude she'd been and she told me never to come again. She blamed me for her horrible management skills. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER! MICHELLE should be FIRED for her disrespect of my parents and my family. We paid a lot of money and were there less than two hours. Also note, none of us were drinking alcohol or being obnoxious. Many people saw this happen. If you can't make reservations for your patron's successfully, you shouldn't be a manager. It was the WORST experience I have EVER had at a restaurant! She humiliated my mom on her 75th birthday. This is NOT acceptable. She was HORRIBLE!!

The food and service are both terrific. They are open through the trying times for take out only.

The elkburger was tasty. It took forever to get however. 3 of us ordered burgers. One had coleslaw instead of fries, one had green salad instead of fries and one had potato salad instead of fries. Yep, all three came with fries. Server didn't even notice, flopped down the food and left. So I mentioned it to her, no I'm sorry or anything. Just, "Oh". I had read the poor reviews which were older, so thought we'd give it a try. No wonder there were so few people there at 1:00PM on a Tuesday.

Food is fine - WHEN it is prepared correctly. Second time a take out order was incorrect; rendered inedible.
* Specifically requested the omission of one ingredient (order taker verified the order and wrote on the take-out box as a reminder) yet it was throughout the meal.
* Preparation of orders are different every visit. Example: onions on salad are sometimes in the form of red onions in rings at other times white onions which are minced. This matters as the taste differs based on the product and preparation.
* Quantity of food equaled the 1/2 portion sizing.Paying full price I expect a full portion.
* Garlic bread was stale, as if it were prepared much earlier in the day.
Again, this was the second time a take out order was not accurate. Is it because few people return a bad take out order (after all, the consumer has to order the food, pick it up, pay additionally for the packaging....)?? There will not be a third opportunity, I will not be a consumer at the Prairie Schooner again.

The staff has changed too much over the years and the few competent individuals do not work 24/7 unfortunately.
