Terrible service, rude and not polite. Don't go eat there. Not worth the trouble.

This place has great food and even better service. If you stop in be sure to ask for Crystal. She really takes care of you and loves to pick at ya'. I like how they smash all their sandwiches even the burgers. EXCELLENT!!!!

Horribly disappointing.
After asking locals what the best barbecue in Paducah is, we decided to take their advice and visit Starnes. Sandwiches are all that are offered--no ribs, no chicken. Sides are slaw, potato salad, or chips. The sandwiches are inexpensive--$2.65--and you have your choice of pork, beef, ham, turkey, or bologna. We chose pork. She chose with sauce, I chose without. After all, good 'q doesn't need sauce.
This 'q needs sauce.
Bland, pasty, and served in a sandwich that looked like a grilled cheese. There wasn't even a hint of smoke or flavor from any kind of rub. It even needed salt.
Although I was sorely disappointed by the sandwich, the potato salad was possibly the best I've ever had. That's worth the one star.

In my opinion, this is the best barbecue in the world. I definitely recommend everyone not only eat there, but pick up a few bottles of the delicious Starne's sauce on their way out!
