LOVE Jans!! The senior catfish plate is priced well and the fish is crispy on the outside and flaky inside. Perfect Every time we go. We have never been disappointed

Been going there for years and always order fish or fish and shrimp. Never had a bad plate yet. Love their fish. Building and ambiance could use a little refreshing but obviously most people love it as usually you have to stand in line for a time to get a table. That usually tells you something about the food.

Their fish is gluten-free and great tasting. Everything (coleslaw, bean soup, French fries) are gluten-free. Hushpuppies are the only condiment that has wheat flour in it. The best fish restaurant in northwest Louisiana.

Love this place. The catfish are American raised, fresh cooked per order, bean soup is great with a dash of tabasco, fries are nice and crispy, brown, good everything. Onions so nice a cold and sweet. Would go more often, but it is a pretty good drive so can only go in summer with daylight savings time.

Only complaint I have is that it is hard to find out what the prices are, even if you call. Taking guests with us I called to see how much the all you can eat was and they seemed to skirt around without ever saying. Online I looked and cannot find anything recent that tells about that cost or for a 3 or 4 pc plate or more??

Would be nice to know. Guests coming in from out of state friday.

Jans is the best place to eat fish at. They are without any doubt 2nd to none. Furthermore , the bean soup & river steak are great. The building was transformed into a restaurant from what looked like some kind of small warehouse , as the saying goes "don'the judge a book by it'seems cover". Trust me, it is my favorite place to treat myself. BEST FOOD & SERVICE IN NORTHWEST LOUISIANA BAR NONE!!!!!!!!!!

Went to Jans for first time last night. It was packed with patrons! I ordered steak and shrimp. My husband ordered catfish. The slaw and tomatoes and beans before the meal were good. The hush puppies were too brown. My steak was cooked well done which I asked for and had a great flavor but was somewhat " fatty"... I never got the house salad that was supposed to come with my meal.
My husband really enjoyed his catfish.....overall it was good. We would probably come back

I love this place. I am not old as one person labeled it... This is the best catfish in Shreveport. If you get a chance to go there to eat don't pass it up.

Nothing Special. Typical fried catfish place. Ambiance is lacking - what can typically be referred to as an "old person's" restaurant. Menu is scant with not many options for healthy eating. The steaks are mediocre at best. If you are in the mood for fried catfish - it's ok but again nothing special. I would venture to guess if you took a look into the kitchen everything is frozen or canned.
