I think it is really important to keep people on top of great values. In the realm of dining things can change very quickly. What was once thought of in high regard can fall monumentally in a short period of time.

While dining at Oliva's this past Friday night, a frequented establishment for my wife and I, it became painfully obvious that Oliva's was failing at maintaining humility in their normal chaotic dinner service.

I have waited for two hours in the past for my dinner to come because the staff really exhibited a concern over all the issues that had caused it, but this night's experience was over the top.

First, we waited for our waitress (Valerie) to get back with us to take our order after delivering our drinks. Roughly 45 minutes passed by while we waited to place our dinner orders. Hum, where could she be ? We had been there an hour now. We eventually had to ask another waitress to have her (Valerie) come to the table and she did. So we were finally on our way, all be it very hungry by this point.

So we are finally going to eat something, yeah!

Another 20 minutes later we finally had our salads. Wow! (Seriously?)

Now, another 40 minutes go by (we’ve been there two hours now) so we really just want to pay for what we had in drinks and salads and be on our way. We received not so much as an apology from the manager who we had to ask for to see because we still hadn't seen our waitress (Valerie). She made no apology but said she would see what was going on. When she returned she made an abrupt statement that our food would be out momentarily so we stayed to receive our dinners.

So the kicker, my waitress miss-heard my order for the 8 Oz sirloin and thought I said 8 oz tenderloin. What a ditz! No apology just a question "So, you don't want this?" Dah!

The staff acted like we were being un-reasonable, offered neither apology for their actions nor any concession other than removing my order (which went back) from the bill.

If you want to reward bad service and an incompetent staff, then this place is for you.

By the way the food is only so so, and getting worse! I won’ t be back to see how bad it gets !
