I love the food at Zuma's, but there is a woman who works there that I have witnessed be so rude and put out by simple requests. She must be the owner or girlfriend of the owner. I witnessed a man ever so politely notify her that the half & half was out and she very snottily replied, " I'll get it when I have a chance." There was really no one in line, no cause for stress. Then when she went to refill it she made this dad with his twin stroller feel so bad for blocking the more out the way route (inside the gold railings) to the creamers. She seems to look for chances to put people down. I've witnessed her on a number of occasions acting mean spirited, I thought at first she was having a bad day. I love their food and their coffee, it's too bad. When you have friendly places like the owners of Grasshopper Cafe that make you feel so welcome, I guess you notice even more when things aren't right.

I have never written a negative review of any establishment ever in my life - I think this is important to note prior to reviewing Zumes as the worst customer service in any service industry I have ever come across.
I live in the neighborhood and really really wanted to like it here.
The employees and some of the owners are outwardly rude to customers, wait times are long and there is an ongoing attitude that any employee at this establishment is being put out by even simply taking an order. If you are a polite customer willing to pay and wait time for your product, there is absolutely no excuse for consistant rude and cranky customer service.
I am a mother in the neighborhood and many mothers discuss this cranky service, the teachers at my son's nursey school have talked about how rude the employees are and finally, I was even at my dentist the other day where a few people were saying they would no longer support the business due to the bad attitude of the staff!
This is too bad for local business and too bad for one of the owners who seems like a pleasant and nice man. However, at some point what you allow to happen in your establishment reflects on how you run your business and who you hire to serve your customers is going to effect your customer service.
I like the location and the coffee and want to support an independantly owned business but have no choice to not only no longer support this business but to share this information with anyone who inquires about Zumes who is new to Charlestown.
I gave Zumes more than enough chances but this level of poor and rude service is not what a local business should be about.
