We have enjoyed eating at Evening With Friends Restaurant in the past but after having driven from Lincoln, nearly 50 miles, We were extremely disappointed in the food. There was almost nothing on the "salad bar", the potatoes were cold, the sauerkraut tasted like it was just dumped from a can, nearly everything on the buffet was pork in some fashion (pork and sauerkraut, sliced pork roast, barbecue pork ribs), the dressing was also cold, and the dinner rolls were hard and cold. During the evening, a person came and messed with the food items with a spoon but she really did not stir it up so that the hot food got mixed with the cold on top. The only good things on the buffet were the fried chicken and the gravy. And the homemade doughnut holes were pretty good.

It is certainly not the caliber of food that we had enjoyed in the past. We had heard the ownership had changed some time ago.
Will we go back again, it is doubtful! Will I recommend it to my friends-does it sound like it!?!

Our family has been there 3 or 4 times for Thanksgiving dinner and always great! This year was no different! There was plenty of food, was hot and really good! The service was perfect as well. I had their chicken & dumpling soup from the salad bar and it was like no other. If I could get the recipe that would top off the experience. Thank you Friends from Evening with friends! : )
