I need people to understand this place is different than any other their food their quality their service it’s beyond anything you’ve experienced I wish this place last 100 years it is truly what it means to be a small business with big quality everything on their menu is next level and if you don’t go here you’re missing out thank you bolivar Street barbecue for everything you do for the community and for my tummy the best food in town thanks

As a traveling BBQ nut, I would put this hidden gem in as one of my favorite in the state. A true hidden gem.

An exceptional BBQ Restaurant. Being a BBQ fan for the last fifty years, I've eaten at a few (okay, maybe more than a few!) of Texas's finest house's of smoke. I judge a BBQ primarily on the quality, and flavor of it's food. Bolivar Street BBQ has the finest pulled pork sandwiches I've ever been fortunate enough to try.
My sandwich was of generous proportions, and the pulled pork itself, was moist, tender, and full of flavor.
Smokey flavor didn't overwhelm the taste of the meat itself, which is exceptionally important. BBQ sauce was sweet, tangy, and generously applied, but not saturating the rest of the sandwich. Potato salad was flavorful, but not sweet. Nice counterpoint to the sandwich. Coleslaw was JUST right, to cut the grease (yes, it's pulled pork, and that tends to be just a tad greasy, if done right...and this was!) Not so vinegary that it seemed harsh.

Restaurant was exceptionally clean, including the tableware. Decor is the usual country BBQ kitsch, and Texana, Lone Star style. Just right for the location. If I can offer one small criticism, it would be a lack of parking, for the volume of the dinner crowd.

Service was friendly, and questions were patiently answered. Answers were informative, and positive. We received our food VERY quickly, and were pleasantly surprised by the taste, and appetizing smell of our food. Definitely a five star trip, and Michele and myself will definitely be back for more. In addition, we are heartily recommending Bolivar St. BBQ to all of our family, and friends!
