I've ate there twice last week for the first time in 2.5 years. I had forgotten how big the platters are and how good the food was. I went once with my vegetarian son, and then with my daughter and son. He is a vegetarian, she is not. They were each
happy with their meals.

Love this diner and we go here alot for breakfast...I recently ate there and decided to buy a dessert for myself and daughter for later. I asked for what I thought was chocolate cream horns, and wasn't corrected. When I got them home, my daughter decided to eat hers and it was so hard, like it had been there for days. At first, I thought she was just complaining, so I tried it, and sure enough, it was just impossible to eat. First of all, it wasn't a cream horn, it was some sort of cinnamon thing. I'd like to continue eating at this place, but not if this happens again.

In reading the previous reviews I would say that most are accurate. We have gone there a few times - the food quality is not consistent - sometimes it is very good and sometimes it is not (as you can see by the reviews). The same goes for the staff - sometimes you get a very good waitress and sometimes you don't. We had one problem where the waitress overcharged for an item but the owner adjusted it without question. I don't know why the owner doesn't take more pride in making sure his food is consistent and staff are professional. It would be a nice local place to go but we don't go often because we are never sure what we are going to get.

Ordered an omelet. They cooked it to death, the bacon was over done. The server came back three times while I was eating and disappeared when it was time for the check. I waited 15 minutes. Oh BTW the cheese in the omelet was not even melted.

Walked in and stood there for 10 minutes while the so called hostess talked on the phone.

So, my son wants to go to Diamond Diner for his birthday. I go online to see the menu so we can be prepared when we get there. I select to view menu and I get Hibachi 101 in Raleigh, NC!!!!! I called the restaurant told them I was on their page trying to view their menu and a woman with an accent keeps telling me address and phone number. I ask for manager and a man gets on the phone and says, "Who's this?" with an agitated tone in his voice. All I want to know is if there is a menu to view online. Apparently not. If it wasn't for my son wanting to go there for his birthday dinner, I WOULD NOT go there. Staff appears to be rude and lacks knowledge about their own online information. Hopefully I can talk my son out of goin here before his birthday! My experience was horrible and I haven't even eaten there yet.

I went for dinner with my husband and our server, Karen, was the rudest server I have ever had. Being a server myself, I would have lost my job if I treated customers the way she treated us. For example, she brought my desert while I was still eating my dinner and said" Are you done with that so I can take it away" I was so shocked that I didn't say anything about her attitude but wish that I had. If you go there ask not to be sat with Karen.

Took family to breakfast. Bill was 4.00 higher that usual. I questioned the waiter, who said, If i had ordered the juice, my bill would have been 4.00 lower. I ordered juice, but too late. Manager/Owner would not take 4.00 off bill. Terrible customer service. Never eat here again..!

I eat at the Diamond every day. Twice a day. The food is excellent, for the price, and I never have been disappointed. If you want gourmet, go to Philly and pay $45. If you want a good filling meal at a reasonable price, Diamond is the place.

If you go in the morning ask for Donna.

BTW: The red headed waitress with the elaborate piercings is Tina. One of the hardest working and efficient waitresses there. Ask for her at night. You can't go wrong.

Diamond Diner is excellent. The servers are super friendly and Lisa is the best of the bunch. Food is excellent and I am very picky. Value for the dollar is second to none. I eat there once a week if possible. Try it and you will enjoy it!

I have been dining at this restaurant for a long time, since back when they had two diners and before this one was moved to Hainsport. The early bird specials are a pretty good deal and the food is usually very good. The waitstaff is generally nice; however, they should consider hiring a new hostess because the one that is always there is rude as h***. You barely get a greeting when you come in and when she takes you to your table, she will throw the menus on the table and walk off.

Food is great, prices are average, staff is amazing. Does anyone know the name of the red headed waitress with the elaborate piercings? She's awesome! Post back here if you know her name.

Thanks.

My husband and I are empty nesters. Now that the nest is empty I have given up cooking forever. We eat at the Diamond ever since they opened. The service is excellent. The food, always good. If there is the occasional problem with the food, just tell them and it will either be taken off the bill or replaced with whatever you would like. We love this place. I have spent 25 years cooking for a family of 12. I am very happy to give up cooking and dine at the DIAMOND.

I agree with the 4/10 reviewer. Again, it's a diner. The food is diner food with diner service. I eat here (both dine in and take out) at least twice a month as I work down the road in an office building and have never had a bad experience. The chicken caesar salad is delicious and very generous in portion size.

I must disagree with the previous comments. This is a diner... you get diner food and diner service. If they want fine food, go to a fine resturant. I have eaten at the Diamond Diner a few times and have never had a problem. The food is good and the staff has been friendly. I would tell anyone who wants a decent meal in a friendly diner atmosphere to go to this place.

they have some nasty waitresses in this place. one named AXEL is totally rude. the food is always cold, overcooked or undercooked. they dont come back to check on you for anything. i would not recommed this place to my worst enemy. hire some nicer people and better chefs. loose the attitudes people.....

review_stars 01/07/2009 - MenuPix User
They have possibly the poorest food that I have ever paid for and no effort is made to see if you enjoyed the meal.

Service is poor. Food order never correct. Get the sense from the lack of customer service that you should be honored to eat there rather than providing customer service. Would never recommend this diner to anyone.
