I had a bad experience today with the owner being very rude. I came to pick up food that had been order by phone 40 minutes earlier. I waited an additional 25 and I simply asked if they had forgotten me. The man behind the counter response was uncalled for. He was extremely rude. He said, "no we didn't forget about you". And I simply stated that the man who came in before me ordered there and had already gotten his food and left. And that I had ordered via phone over an hour ago. He said "that man ordered stuff off the grill which you need to understand is quicker then the hoagies you ordered". I told him there was no reason to be rude to me. I could not believe how ignorant he was. My family has been ordering from there for years! He then said looking at me side eyed, " don't you think I can see you standing there out of the corner of my eye." He made a few other ignorant comments but I didn't hear all he had to say. Several customers commented on how rude he was to me. And several others raised their eyebrows at his response. They also told me everytime they order the food is never ready when they get there. When I finally got my food an hour and fifteen minutes later i get home to find my daughters cheesesteak was a soggie mess. She had to put the meat on bread. Not only was I treated terrible he had his mask pulled down around his chin. Several other staff were not even wearing their masks properly. I will not be going back. And I hope he loses every other customer that was in there with me.

I only give one star and that's because I can't make it 1/2 star ...

I have been going there for years and I have gotten numerous burnt white pizzas but never got treated with such disrespect as I did today.

They burnt the pizza ..I called and ended up in a argument about the condition of the pizza. ..

The man on the other end of the phone was rude and nasty. Then he told me if I didn't like the pizza don't come back. ... AND BELIEVE ME I WON'T! !!

That's no way to run a business. ..
Horrible Horrible treatment. ..and pizzas

ordered pizza on a tuesday night which was a special to med pizza 15.99 when i ordered i ordered a white pie was told its only a special if its a red pie which was false advertising called back to cancel order the owner told me i could not so for 27.46 i then had a white pie and med red one also it was the worse pizza ever sad to say i have been a customer there all of my life but pizza is not their speciality as for customer service the young boys were friendly but i will not be going back there for pizza ever again unless i want to eat cardboard learn how to make pizza and cook the vegetables when ppl order toppings

sandwiches are good and french fries are killer but its got terrible parking they should have remodeled the front to the side so it would be a better and safer entrance

The Gem is a hidden treasure that has been serving the area for nearly thirty five years. You can't go wrong with anything on the extensive menu- which is home to hundreds of food choices. If you can't find something appealing on the menu- you probably aren't hungry. I would suggest the signature cheese steak hoagie. The pizza is also quite yummy- great crust with a nice sauce and fresh mozzarella cheese. This philly guy stops in all the time on my way to the beach.
