I don't believe the negative reviews I've just read. I've heard of this kind of review being used by competitors and by people with personal grudges and that's what I think these are. I've been eating at the Sunset since 2003 when our family discovered it. I speak for my wife and son as well as myself when I say the Sunset becaame our favorite place to eat whenever we're in the area.

We've found the menu to be full of delicious, well-prepared dishes, no matter what kind of meal or snack we wanted. The quantity and quality of our food have always exceeded our expectations. We've never had a bad meal or poor service, and their prices are very good. We like all the staff there but we've come to have special connection with Diana for her professionalism and cheery disposition.

I see someone claimed the Sunset is dirty but I have no hesitation in calling the person a liar. I also have no hesitation in saying that "Nicole Smith" should be sued for the claim that the health department said that Sunset had failed inspection. The only obstacle I see is finding out who "Nicole Smith" really is. I doubt anyone writing such a libel would use their real name.

In our experience Sunset Diner is a good example of all that's really great about the traditional diner experience. If I could only eat out in one place in New Jersey it would be the Sunset.

the diner is very good, my aunt ellen gordon and i go there all the time. all the waiters and waitresses are very good, except one in particular her name is Meghan. My aunt found out her uncle died and said she is sorry to hear that her uncle died and she couldn't say a word. she never smiles, and acts very cold to us. she seems like she only wants tip she also only cares and is nice to the greek guys that come in. we would rate the diner a five but for meghan she is a 3. she never is friendly to us and acts very cold. my aunt was going to leave her a five dollar tip or ten. but the way she treated us forget it. she is really going to ruin the customers and make them not have any. if she was working for wendys she would be gone by now. we tried being nice and friendly, my aunt has said hello to her many different times but this lady does not respond to zilch! how can they let her stay there. tony, demitrie, ted and george and nina and tony wife and georges wife are all nice. the best waitress is sarah and the spanish guy i forget his name. leon was good till he quit. lydia take or leave and nina is a nother best one. the food is good and sometimes problems the chicken was not cooked really good.

Typical diner fare but I love this place. Large portions, unlimited coffee.

08/01/2010 - Sunday Brunch Delivery
I called Sunset Diner on a Sunday morning to order breakfast delivery per instruction of an on-line posting. The person who answered was abrupt at best, stating: 'We don't deliver. We don't have a website.' After the conversation, I'm not inspired to travel to the diner, personally experience the ambiance, and tantalize my palette.

I have never had a problem with the diner, the food has always been good. As for the other review, I don't know if you should trust the review of someone who doesn't know how to spell at all.

as i sat down with a cup of coffee i had lipstick on my mug, i got clow sale and pickles with hair in both then my main course i had hair in my french fries and the silverware was dirty.. the people are rude and the restuarnt is very dirty disgusting diner dont eat their also i called the health department and they said they didnt past the inspection im just waring every1 please dont eat their
