The food was spectacular, the surroundings were beautiful, but the prices were rather high. The service was good but not great, I had to ask a couple times for a refill. Overall, I had a terrific time and this restaurant was really gorgeous.

Review: This is my favorite celebration restaurant. The food is obviously incredible, but the service is so warm and welcoming. We've done the tasting menu a few times now but recently I was looking to celebrate my birthday, but this time I have an infant in tow. We had lunch in the Bar Room early on a Wednesday. There were two other well behaved little ones in the restaurant (which was comforting) and I was immediately put at ease by the wonderful staff and we had another perfect meal. I can't wait to think up a reason to come back.

Review: Wonderful for a special evening. The Modern was a really lovely place, the food was truly delicious and beautifully prepared. The service was definitely the highlight of the entire experience-- the waiter even walked me to the restroom at the end of our meal. My boyfriend and I dined early in the evening before going to see a show; the staff was extremely accommodating. Our waiter did everything to ensure we thoroughly enjoyed our meal, and helped us choose the best menu option, so that we would make it out with enough time to arrive at the theater. The ambiance was lovely, we had a view of the MoMA courtyard, which we enjoyed. Everything we ate was incredible, but the portions are very small. The complimentary pea soup was a nice treat. I had the pistachio stuffed chicken, I absolutely loved it.. My boyfriend had the lamb, which was also delicious, but an extremely small portion for an entree. We were overcharged for the truffle gnocchi, which was supposed to be an additional $20, but we were charged an additional $30. As we were in a bit of a time sensitive situation, we didn't address it, but we probably should have said something. Overall, it was an excellent experience, but the price is very high. We had a $200 gift card, which definitely took away some of the sting, but I really would only recommend this place for a very special occasion for a couple, or of course if you have $300 to burn on a meal for 2, any time. I don't think I'd enjoy a place like this with a large group (I'm 28, but that may be different for an older crowd). I'd go back for a special occasion in the future, it's definitely nice to dine in an especially high class venue.

Review: The place for special occasion or for mere self indulgence. Next to MoMa, separate entrance. Every course is plated like a modern art. Set menu only for lunch (service fees included in the set price, $138 for 3 course; $178 for 6 course). Plenty of choices. All delicious, though the truffle tart, bone marrow beef with black truffles and apple crumble with sage ice cream stand out amidst their fantastic peers. Service is impeccable. Extensive wine list.

Review: Has to be the best restaurant in town. Superb service and the cuisine is a gourmet's delight. Complimented with exquisite cocktails and the most comprehensive wine list I have ever had the privilege to peruse. Definitely a 🏅🏅🏅🏅🏅from me.

Review: I don’t know why anyone thinks they can charge $26 for an average glass of Chardonnay. Pompous and overpriced and the service was inattentive. But hey, they don’t accept tips so what’s the motivation for good service? Nice atmosphere for sure. Nice place to meet up as long as the company is paying for it. Otherwise, save your money. There are way too many options in Manhattan that are just as beautiful, people.
