My husband and I have dined there several times and I must say that our meals were excellent. This restaurant deserves to be featured on "Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives".

This is a great place to eat. The food is really good as well as the staff and atmosphere. If you did not have a good experience, you are an uptight and difficult person.

Went there during the car show this past Monday evening. The food was really good. My Cheese burger and the home made fried potato chips were absolutley awesome. Prices were really good for what you get and the servers were very friendly and fun to be around. This place is a must if your in the area. Great atmosphere with a nice outdoor patio as well.
I was impressed, being from a large Florida city and just moved to the area, I will say that it is the best restaurant I have found in Mocksville and give it a 5 star rating. I will be back there very soon.

The food is good, the steaks are great, there is a wide choice on the menu and you are greeted immediately. It is nice to have a restaurant with good food in Mocksville to eliminate the need to travel to Clemmons or W-S. My husband and I support them regularly and we want them to stay.

We have heard great things about this establishment but had not had the opportunity to dine there. Excellent food, excellent service! We visited with friends last evening and was delighted by the live music! The girls, Olivia and Heather entertained us all very well and actually sounded professional!! Hope to dine there again soon and hopefully hear more of Olivia and Heather there too!

My wife's sorority took their husbands to 101 in Mocksville for Christmas dinner. There was about 20 of us. We were greeted and they made room for us. The food was excellent and the service was superb. We were made to feel like we were one of the family. Steaks were very delicious the sub sandwich was great. We are planning another dinner on Thurday the 30 of Dec 2010 and we can't wait. If you need a little place to get away for a nice quite romantic evening go to 101.

Our group of 16 (Birthday Party) was well taken care of. The food and service were exceptional!
The complimentary birthday cake was a nice touch as well. We hope to go back often.

I'd like to first state that anyone who thinks this place is related to Moxies, Langleys, the Gasthause or any of those places is an ill-informed buffoon.

Restaurant 101 is a wonderful addition to historic downtown Mocksville. Its setting is quaint, but very comfortable. The servers were friendly and knowledgeable. The best part, however, was the food. It was fantastic! Everything was hot, well prepared, exactly as ordered, and delicious. Prices are fair for the setting. So do yourself a favor and try them out. For those of you that remember Langley's, this will certainly exceed your expectations.

Wonderful! The steaks, sandwiches, shrimp and grits, and salads are all wonderful. One of the best flavored filets I have had. A real treat to have good food with a great atmosphere in Mocksville and not have to travel to Winston.

Restaurant 101 is set in a beautifully restored historic brick building in downtown Mocksville, NC. The setting alone makes for a wonderful experience, but when it is combined with the delicious food, the experience of Restaurant 101 is nothing short of wonderful. I presently live in California and have had the experience of eating food from all over the country. What I most like about 101 is the steaks. The filet Mignon, with the herbed butter on top, is breath-takingly delicious. You can cut this steak with a fork, and the flavor is nothing short of an extreme pleasure to your taste buds. I also enjoy the crab cake sandwich, and the fried green beans. This restaurant is a gem, and you will find a down home friendliness served with a mouth watering meal!

The 101 is very good. Love everything about it from food to the old style. You will or might have a slight wait at times but this is due to the food is cooked to order, I don't know about you but I would rather have my food HOTTTT and good then something that has been sitting around all day..

First off we went with high expectations. We had a terrible experience, the service was actually ok and friendly and served us up a reason better than the food and wait time for the food. She said the restaurant was recovering from loosing the person who created and ran the place. Our food: an over cooked breaded up crab-cake was terrible, the salads were gaudy, the apples were awful and my hubbys shrimp and grits were tasteless! There was no wine list or knowledge of what they had. I drove from Advance to experience what I heard was terrific, it was not even close. No management visible and I asked if there was anyone in the higher ups to speak with and they never came so we just paid for crap and left. I' am so very disappointed and feel we wasted our time, money, and gas which in this day of economics is a no no. DO NOT GO YOU WILL BE VERY, VERY DISAPPOINTED AND ARE JUST WASTING YOUR MONEY! All around terrible

The food is awesome.......The steaks are out of this world. We have eaten up there several times and everything we have had has been very good. If you have not been there you need to go and try it.

Ate here Friday night and the food was pretty good, service was OK too. I was told it was a fine dining, but its more casual then that, which is good by me. Food arrived quickly, maybe even a little too quick, but it was hot and cooked the way I liked it. Waitress was new, so she gets a pass for getting my drink order wrong. All in all, a pretty good dining experience.
A plus for this place is the great bar across the street, recommended by the waitress, which has live music on the weekends, and karaoke and dancing. People there were friendly, and drink prices were very reasonable. The combination of the two makes going to Mocksville worth it on the weekend.

The waitress did not know what the house red wine is. For an appetizer, I ordered the crab soup. They did not have it. Only two soups and they did not have one. MMMM... I ordered the crab sandwich which was pretty good but slightly over cooked. It made it to the table faster than McD's drive-thru. Way too fast for dinner. And the cops sitting in the front window made it uncomfortable to have a glass of wine and get back in the car.

Well we dined at the new restaurant 101 4 times since it opened and thought it was absolutely terrific. The food is amazing, the best steak I have ever eaten, the best crab dip ever, also had a great burger although I forgot which one but again it was very good. The place has a bar but it is a restaurant. The man running the place actually was the manager at Village Tavern as well as the old Putters I believe, he really out did himself on the menu and prices. I have had good service and bad service but it remains to be seen if that will become consistant, the man who is running it seems very knowledgable and will more than likely get a fix on that end.

In response to Tommy.......I don't know where you get your info from but The 101 is total different than Langley's. It is not the same people. I think you need to check it out then make your opinion. Or do always listen to what others tell you? By the way it is a family restaurant not a bar if you want to bash a bar walk across the street.

review_stars 07/23/2009 - Tommy
From what I understand this same basic group of people are opening the new bar aka Restaurant 101. It will be an alcoholic haven and a diners hell just like Langley's was. There will be fights ,arguments, and people thrown through the windows.Another Mocksville disaster.
