The wait was long for the amount of people that were there. The pork was so dry that you could not eat. Totally shocked.

We used to be able to eat there and not break the bank, but now the prices are outrageous. Even the drinks. This community needs this place to feel special. We are all a working class community who can't afford to hang out here with these prices. You fixed up the place but did you even consider the people who would be coming here? The regulars who have been going there for years? Your prices are ridiculous! You are not in some big fancy city!

I am really surprised to see all the bad reviews but then I noticed the dates and they were very old. The new owners have done a great job restoring the reputation they used to have. My husband and I have eaten there several times this year and each time our food was wonderful. The Fish and Chips were awesome and the steaks were delicious. And best of all, the bar staff knew how to make a Gin and Tonic. The outdoor patio is great in warm weather.

I went there when the restaurant first reopened and the food was beyond wonderful. I was so impressed. Then I started getting the chicken chunks that were fried and so tasty along with golden brown fries. The third time I got them they tasted like they had been fried in oil with fish. This last time, they weren't even fried, but a piece of white meat that looked like someone threw it on the griddle to brown and cost over $10.. Dry, tasteless. Fries were limp and unseasoned. The drinks are over priced for what you get, a rum and cola served in a what looked like a cordial glass. I have to ask for a taller glass and get charged 50 cents more. Really? I had high hopes for this place when it opened but its going down hill fast. Wake up owners, people are not going to come back if the food quality changes all the time and pay the prices you're asking. Did you lose the chef you opened with? Get him or her back!

My friend and i returned tonight to try out the tavernette since it reopened. Well needless to say we wont be back. The service was so slow and the food was ok but not worth the price. I would tell people to save their time and money and go somewhere else. They need more help in there that knows what they are doing. Good luck to them but after what we had it doesnt look good for them.

Have loved this place since my now wife took me there 18 years ago, after her parents took her there 30 years ago! Great steaks, and a wonderful chopped steak with grilled onions. Their relish tray of dill pickles, sauerkraut, and cottage cheese is a unique and tasty appetizer. The atmosphere is 50s-60s-70s and very comfortable. Nice staff, and kiddie cocktails with a plastic sword. A hidden treasure.

Dropped in last Saturday night. Made a reservation: didn't need one. Seems there was no one there. Wonder why not? Food was terrible. Wife ordered a filet, medium. I ordered the prime rib, medium. Food came out in five minutes. My prime rib was luke-warm; wife's filet was barking. yep, barking. Did I mention that there was no one there? Stay away!! There are much better places out there; don't waste your time or money here.
