This restaurant is tops. We go to church close by and many Wednesdays we come there after the morning service. The food is delicious; the employees and management are great. If you go to Moss's southern cooking you will not be disappointed. I recommend it highly. Don't take my word for it. Try it!

In regard to Martha's comment, Moss' Café is next door to Silke's. Moss' Southern Cooking is on Memorial Drive and not associated in any way with Moss' on College Street. So next time you write a review on someone's page, please make sure that you have the right place. These reviews can be VERY damaging as people read them before they eat somewhere. I ask Martha to come to 253 Clearview drive on the corner of Memorial Drive and get some REAL southern cooking.

TERRIBLE, me and the husband wanted something new and got lured by their "southern" appeal. I could not even finish my meal, had to walk over to Silke's Bakery. The staff is rude and dirty looking, food was made along time ago (I,m talking weeks ago), way overpriced, awful selections and plate lunch combos. The inside has fire damage and is literally falling apart, the tea is awful and if you want water, it comes out of their dingy sink. Having a kitchen full of women that can't properly work the kitchen, in my opinion, is very shameful. This food is innapropriate even for the homeless drug addicts. This place should be put out of business and go run their "food" from their trailer park... Why say that you have "southern food" when clearly its not? Spend your hard earned free time and money where you will be served by those who care about what they are doing.

The management is terrible, nothing but a bunch of bullies to the servers, cussing, name calling such as stupid, and yes in front of the customers. Any confidential personal problems taken to managers are gossip topics to the regulars who stay all day there! If you love Wednesday's meatloaf, you will really love Friday & Monday's spaghetti because it's made from the left over meatloaf.

Really really good down home cooking-greens are great, open faced pulled pork sandwich with gravy over the fries is southern heaven. Their country fried steak is really yum too. And the corn sticks they serve while you wait are wonderful. It's always busy! But definitely worth it if you have to wait a few!

The review written by "Michael" regarding Moss’s Southern Cooking is ridiculous and petty and was written because he is angry about his wife being taken off the schedule there. I worked with his wife and yes, she did work "good" as he put it, but apparently she had trouble remembering when she was supposed to be there or was unable to read and understand the schedule. She also did not show up for required monthly staff meetings. For these reasons she was given one day per week (a day convenient to her by the way, as she worked two jobs) and was then taken off the schedule permanently. No schedules have ever been "lost" at Moss's either. If this restaurant is so dirty and rotten and the cooking is so terrible, I wonder why "Michael" brought himself and his young son to eat there almost every time his wife was at work? Additionally, why would the restaurant consistently score in the high 90's by the Health Department if it were so dirty and rotten? For him to suggest the cooks and/or staff at Moss’s are “doing something to the consumers’ food” is utterly preposterous and above all slanderous. Maybe if “Michael” made more money and was a better provider for his family, his wife would not have had to work two jobs and he wouldn’t have to be so distressed about her losing one source of his family’s income that he would have to lie about and slander this restaurant. Either way, don’t put any stock into “Michael’s” review. Just come to Moss’s and see for yourself the food is delicious, the staff are friendly and courteous, and the service is quick and efficient, as a result of the excellent supervision by the owner and management.

This restaurant is the worst place to eat has terrible cooking, terrible wait staff, terrible management. The place is dirty. My wife worked there and she worked good but the manager didn't like her. So to fire her they scheduled her for one day a week and that was a thursday. But when she came in they said they lost the schedule and she was suppose to work on Wednesday. That's just one example of how dirty rotten their staff is. Pick another choice of service because if they are rotten to their co workers how rotten do u think they'll be to their customers. You wouldn't even know they are being rotten to you, You cant possiblly know what they can do to your food before they serve it to you
