this place used to be pretty good, now horrible. no meat in the burritos, all rice and beans for $8. tasteless over salted garbage. do yourself a favor and go to litos.

I read about this place in the May 2010 issue of Sunset magazine. They said El Sitio had the best burritos on the South Coast and they might be right. I've been back four times since I read that article. Something about the chicken and the way they put the burrito back on the grill after folding it up. Yummers!

Wow, that poor review really does a disservice to this restaurant. I've literally eaten at El Sitio dozens and dozens of times over many years and have never become sick from eating there. True, the service is standard and the atmosphere is basic, but let's not forget that this is a true taqueria. It's supposed to be simple.

That being said, the food is exceptional, and not only that, it's exceptional consistently. El Sitio makes one of the best burritos in Santa Barbar, and their tortas, tacos, and other specialty items are delicious too. And it's quite a good value too, at around $6 for most burritos and tortas. You can quite often find any of El Sitio's 4 locations packed every day around lunch time, and for good reason.
