We're local and have been to La Boniche many times. We're consistently greeted warmly, service is always great and the food wonderful. The atmosphere is relaxed and warm, upscale but cozy, with paintings from local artists adorning the walls.
We frequently make this our New Year's Eve dinner destination and had a fantastic meal in January. We have reservations tonight, taking advantage of their Prix Fixe menu which is incredibly reasonable. You won't be disappointed!

I have gone here for many years, even when it was on Gorham Street. I have always had superb service, excellent food and great atmosphere. The people who gave it such a poor rating obviously don't know fine food when they taste it. La Boniche is #1 in my book.

I think this is the best restaurant in Lowell,so far. I like the menu BUT, they seem to change it every 3 months. Once I love a dish it is GONE and I have to start over again. I do wish a few dishes would return. The mussels with a garlic cream sauce was to die for, now it is a spicy tomato that has stayed for a long time and I do not wish to try it. Then there was risotto with fish (perfect), now gone...Pork with pear...gone...But, I do order the duck and now only order the pate dish with the pineapple/cranberry chutney and brie...nice and light and great with wine...That is my favorite dish today. I do love the service. The owner has known the waiter that has stayed with her over 17 years and he is a delight to see each time. He passed the cookie challenge. I consider myself the great baker and he introduced me to their chocolate chip cookie, heated and dusted with powered sugar...very nice. I only wish the menu would not change so often, but do love this place very much.

Save your money and go somewhere else! The service was mediocre at best, the food bad, and the management is rude.

We had the grilled ginger pork from their Prixe Fixe Tuesday menu. The pork was touch and dry -- clearly over-cooked. The sauce was an unappetizing beige, looking like a cream sauce that had broken; as if that weren't enough it was bland. The black bean soup was good but the dressing for the Caesar salad had too much anchovy in it (and I like anchovies). We didn't taste the bread pudding dessert because by then we were so fed up with the service and waiting for the manager to come to speak to us (we asked twice and waited 45 minutes but the manager never came) that we paid our bill and left. Good thing we were paying with a gift certificate!

La Boniche is definitely my favorite restaurant in the Lowell area. Anna Omoyeni's menus are innovative, well-presented and always wonderful. I always look forward to dining at La Boniche and I recommend it to my friends.

I notice no one had reviewed La Boniche, which is surprising. So I've decided to add my 2 cents. This is one of my favorite French restaurants... You can't go wrong with anything your order. My wife would recommend this restaurant to tech customers and sales reps who would be visiting the area. Food is excellent!!! Building has a lot of character, with it's high ceilings. On the wekends, there could be a little jazz combo in the background as well.
