MenuPix User Reviews for Sakura Japanese Cuisine

While most folks seem to focus on the sushi, the sushi (which is good) is just PART of the whole, which is Japanese cuisine (because sushi is a Japanese food, even though it has been rammed in with other Asian foods). So, my focus will be on the entrees.

While the restaurant is not owned by Japanese people, the food is pretty authentic in terms of how it is prepared and how it tastes. Having lived in Japan, I can say that whenever I want "real" Japanese food, I most certainly head to Sakura's. The tempura dishes are just incredible, the teriyaki is quite good, the ramen bowls are almost like getting them in Japan. My favorite are the donburi dishes, specifically katsudon (fried pork with egg and onion over rice), which I loved in Japan and I love Sakura's just as much.

So, great Japanese food, whether you are wanting sushi or Japanese entrees.

My husband and I moved to Australia, and I miss Sakura, my favorite Sushi restaurant. I used to work at the nearby credit union, and most of the time I met my husband at Sakura for lunch. The food was always good, and the service was excellent. I can't wait to eat there again when we come home.

Awesome atmosphere; very quaint, and welcoming. The selection is very good for a small place. The owner is very nice, always greets me and anyone who I take warmly. Food is delicious and inexpensive.

This is by far the best Sushi restaurant I have ever been to and I've had the pleasure of sampling Sushi in a lot of cities. The service is fantastic and always friendly and the food is indescribable. Everything they make is memorable and I can't wait till the next time I go back.

Excellent food. I was there two days ago and when I finished I thought they had made a mistake on my bill. No not in a bad way, I thought they undercharged me. They looked the bill over and said no that's right. How many sushi places does that happen in?

Of all the sushi places I've been in my life including California... this is my favorite. Hands down. The sushi places in Boulder, some of them are pretty darn good. But Sakura has a great atmosphere, the portions you get are considerably bigger, the special rolls are excellent, not pretentious just darn good sushi. Kid friendly too.

Seriously, this is my all time favorite little sushi joint in Colorado. It's cozy, the people make it fun and relaxing; they're very nice. The food is outstanding for a really reasonable bill! I highly recommend you spend a dinner moment there, you won't regret it!

The shrimp and vegetable tempura is our favorite here. We order two so that both of us get enough since we argue over who gets what if we don't!   read more

I eat here quite often and have to say the food quality is great. They make things to order and aren't afraid to make things spicy if that's what you're into. The staff can be a bit strange at times but its safe to assume its due to…   read more
