The plates are heaped with pasta and the main dishes are skimpy. Salads at our table are uneven , some had small amounts of salad and some huge amounts and very little dressing served. The eggplant Parmesan was terrible there was very think pieces of eggplant that you couldn’t taste the sweetness with thick breading and think cheese it was only 3 1/2 in cut in half most likely to layer. The pasta was a huge amount with very little of the watery homemade sauce . I would not consider eating here it’s over rated .

Parking is awful. Saw 2 cars backing all the way out to get out of parking lot. We go there and were told 20 minute wait. In the meantime people with no reservations got right in because they were parties of 4 or 6. If you are a party of 2 avoid this place

Had the most amazing dinner last night. Eating there many times and have never been disappointed. Ordered the special dinner with veal, mushrrooms lemon and wine with spaghetti. One of the best meals I ever had. The veal was so tender and cooked to perfection. The plate was so bountiful that I took home leftovers with there delicious garlic knots. Congratulations to the cook.

Great dinner! I took my mother there and the food was wonderful. Mom had the Gnocchi and I had the Chicken Franchese. The red sauce is probably the best sauce I have ever tasted including my own and that's saying a lot. The prices are very reasonable and the service was fine..

The food was pretty good, although wording on the menu was confusing, and I ended up with a meal somewhat other than I expected. The wait staff was not good at all. I never had my coffee refilled, my friend asked for water with lemon, and got only water (she did ask again for lemon and the waitress brought a small dish of it). When paying after eating, had to wait for our particular waitress because they all "operate as their own banks." Really strange. Probably will not go back there.

Things have changed.... prices increased...and fancy menu..... miss the old menu, and if I wanted a fancy place with fancy prices we would have gone someplace else. Told it would be about 15 mins, maybe less, good half hour before we got called in... Service inside was good..

We read the reviews and were very excited to try Nicola's. It was O K is all I can say. The salad dressing was so-so. The gnocchi was rather mushy.Pete had the chef's special. Lasagna, eggplant,ravioli,& manicotti. A seemed over done. Not bad but just OK.Sorry

As you can see from our last name my husband is Italian. He is also an excellent cook! We had been to Mama's in Englewood several times and think they are very good....nice sized portions and good prices. Nicola's is sooooooooooo much better! The food is absolutely delicious and service is superb. We had to wait quite awhile to be seated when we went in Feb. and the waitress took drink orders from all that were in line:) It was much appreciated and we loved the house Chianti:) We are heading back south from WA state tomorrow and will be taking company to Nicola's for dinner. We can't wait!

Please consider placing your fine Italian menu on line. Us local Englewood-ians that work can view your menu,call,order,pick-up and dinner is served. Now that's ITALIAN.......Please let me know,I'll be the first to place the order.

You were opened a couple of months and it was late and we were starving. We placed and order for 2 dinners for a spaghetti dinner and an eggplant dinner. Picked up in no time. We were hooked.

We had never been to Englewood, nor did we know where to go to eat after a game. We were a party of 47 so we thought we would be very limited. We needed casual atmosphere and reasonable prices. Nicola's was the best decision we could have made. Awesome food and super service! Everyone was so welcoming! I recommend this restaurant to anyone living in or visiting the Englewood area. Wish we had a Nicola's Italian Restaurant on the East Coast!!!!!

I found this restaurant to be a rare, genuine family-run business with a "aim-to-please" attitude and amazing food that my grandmother would actually pay for. If you know my grandmother, you know that she doesn't pay anything that claims to be Italian, but doesn't follow-through. She is straight out of Italy and as picky as any stubborn old Italian lady... I'll be back at Nicola's Italian Kitchen again and again and again and...

My family and I have been eating here for years. The food is simply amazing. The owners make everything from scratch almost daily and you can taste it in every bite. To really experience it try Tina's Gnoochi Alfredo or the Seafood Marinara. They are two of my personal favorites.
