Assaulted, Mistreated, Threatened and Discriminated against. Not necessarily in that order but you can understand my frustration. Let me lay it out for you: Birthday party of 9 July 31st into the morning of the 1st of August, got our hands marked, Paid our cover to get in and get our arm bands, Bought our top shelf drinks at the far right bar. Sat down to have a drink and conversation just winding down the birthday night with friends and my boyfriend. While I am in the middle of a conversation while casually having a drink, minding our own business in the corner of the room one of the security guards decides to come by and check my boyfriends arm. He doesn't ask, he just grabs his arm, drink in hand and twists it. the mark is there of course, his hoodie is purposelessly slid down over his armband but he pulls it up for the security guard to see, the security guard they puts both of his hands around him and starts to lead him outside. Keep in mind this is right in front of myself and 7 others in our group. So at this point we are not happy with the situation at hand. We as a group gather our things, leave our drinks and head to the door, myself leading the pack. The security guard at the door throws his arms up as if he is not going to let me exit the building. RED FLAG, I'm like dude we are leaving and that's the end of it, we are not going to be treated this way. So the security guard that has taken my boyfriend outside has him up against the wall, hands still on him. At this point for no reason whatsoever he starts cussing and yelling at all of us that he just wanted to talk to him. But we all ask why? At that point the only answer we got was getting cursed at again and he said because he said so. Full disclosure I later find out in private that there was some inappropriate touching on this security personnel's behalf while exiting the building and it was pretty obvious that we were all gay. Which I fully believe makes this more of a hate crime or attempted sexual assault had we not made the moves that we had to exit the building. This man needs to lose his job. The abuse of power is clear. several of us including all the staff that was out-front while this was going on seen this staff person lose his cool because he was called out while abusing his power. This is completely unacceptable for any business to practice this way, as a business owner myself in this city I cannot believe that this behavior is tolerated and accepted by the management of such an establishment. Abuse of power, Discrimination, Assault or any kind is something we are all fighting so hard against. Please get rid of the people that condone and practice this behavior.
