After driving hours to have a great Mexican dinner very disappointed they are closed. From reviews things went downhill. Discovered this place in the 80’s, they had authentic Mexican recipes and their margaritas were made and frozen days in advance and then thawed out as needed. It created ice slivers that contained alcohol! He must have had a minus 200 degree fridge. I recall having to wait for the next batch to thaw. Then they bought a slush machine and they were never the same. Their chips were made on site and then these two were purchased in bulk. I am sorry they have folded. Being NH’s first Mexican restaurant and then opening in Salem it was probably too much. But my memories are when they had the best Mexican food I ever had the opportunity I eat. Oh and their fried ice cream dripping with honey is something my now grown children won’t forget either.

DOESN'T even deserve a star. As a witness to the horrible service of the BARTENDER, to someone sitting at the bar - who was rightfully complaining after receiving less then half of her Queso dip, and finding a BONE in her meal – Then to have the Bartenders parents/grandparents being rude and dis-repectful to the CUSTOMER for her complaint. The owner, even said, you should expect to see bones in the chicken – with a SMILE on her face ….. REALLY !!!! THEN basically being thrown out after complaining … At least 6 people at the bar witnessed the issue and they were just as shocked at the POOR people skills that they displayed. Needless to say, I will NEVER go there again. And I will be sure to tell everyone about the horrible experience.

If you are looking for the best margarita's and queso dip- this is the place! When the food is hot, it is usually pretty good too. However, you might get the feeling the the owner and management are trying to stop you from coming back. While the wait staff is usually pretty good, they are clearly treated poorly and forced to decline almost any request you may have.

Can you say nickle and dime? A Mexican restaurant that doesn't bring you chips and salsa, without a charge? If you want salsa or guac as a condiment, there's a charge? $8.95 for a kids' meal chicken finger plate? Margarita was OK, verde was good. Decor? Best thing were the red shutters. Not worth the trip; a step above Taco Bell. I'll travel to Lawrence to Cafe Azteca, Manchester to CJs and North Andover to Casa Blanca.

You seriously won't believe this. God forbid you take your friend out for a birthday dinner with a group of 10 or more on a weekday night. We were hurdled like cows into 2 small tables because they do not open the dining room during weekdays (apparently they hate business). When we asked if we could move into the dining room to be more comfortable and make room as more people were coming the waitress said no, owners policy. We didn't think it was fair that other guests would have no place to sit so we told the waitress if it couldn't happen then we'd probably have to close out our bill. We asked to speak with the owner who came out with bills in hand and asked if we were thinking of going to another restaurant if she didn't oblige. We said yes and she flung the bills on the table and said, "well go". We were speachless. So, if you care to dine at a place that doesn't care about business...this is your place. We were never more insulted. The owner apparently could give a big fat whatever to customer service. Two thumbs WAY DOWN!

We couldn't disagree more with the previous perceptions raised by the last review. We too ate at Little Mexico last night for the very first time, as it was highly recommended from some very dear friends of ours. They told us they had been dining here for years and have never been disappointed.

We went with a skeptical mind....you know...Mexican food in New Hampshire?....but were very pleased to see the restaurant hopping and busy, which is always a good sign initially. We also felt the decor lent itself to give us the sense of being in an authentic Mexican environment.

Although there was some slight delay with seating us (it was busy, so there was a slight wait) we were seated and had quick and timely service by the staff to get us our drinks while we reviewed the menu.

Overall, food arrived in a timely fashion, there were some delays....as I said earlier, it was busy, so we were patient and didn't feel it was a show stopper by any means. Food was EXCELLENT - we thoroughly enjoyed all aspects of our meal. Dollar for dollar it was well worth it compared to what else is available in this area.....which is nothing. If you prefer to drive 20 more minutes to a larger city, sure, you'll find other options, but none cozier and more family oriented that what we experienced last night.

I also visited their website this morning and although it could use some work, I did find the history behind the Mexican owners and Little Mexico Restaurant to be very inspiring as well.

We will return here, without question!!

Little Mexico, has great food.Taste homemade
and great Mexican flavors. Also, has great Margaritas and the people who work there have been there a long time and are very friendly.

We go at least twice a month.
