Very good food and service. Menu does need to be more explicit in terms of pricing. i.e.. shrimp mini quesadilla are $6.75 on the menu but they add $2.50 additional for the shrimp?? We questioned the waiter about this and he did say they have many questions about that but have not changed the menu so that you understand the additional up charge. Other than that it is actually quite good.

Right the best part of this experiance was the hot salsa they made for me. Hotwise, it sucked. But it did taste great for a Hot salsa. <br />
Should hire that guy I met there today that translated for you guy. He's got some ball.<br />

I moved in to the neighbor hood two years ago and have past by Palapa. I finely stop by for breakfast Sunday morning and was pleasantly surprised. The food was very good the service was great. I will be going back and will tell my friends and family.

La Palapa is actually an authentic mexican food restaurant at a very affordable price for all UCSB university students!! the fish tacos are excellent and their beans taste like real mexican beans are supposed to taste like. I absolutely love this place. The service is okay, they only have two waiters but the tasty food makes up for it.

beware using the buy one get one free coupons that are found in flyers for this restaurant. it is a BAIT & SWITCH! i tried using the coupon during lunch & was told that i couldn't because the lunch specials were already considered a discount. i argued my case & pointed out that the coupon didn't mention this restriction & that to not honor the coupon was misleading. they did not budge. the food was decent enough but not enough to return. the service was terrible. we had 2 waiters come to our table but didn't receive our drinks or chips/salsa until at least 15 minutes later when our food arrived. BOO palapa!

The people were great there. As soon as I sat down they brought chips, salsa, and guacamole! Which was beyond delicious. The service was excellent, the food was authentic Mexican food, and the tamarindo was awesome. Best Mexican restaurant i have been to in SB.
