Delicious food! Coming back this week.

I'm on business looking for a good place to eat. Willi Sue's was recommended by my hotel. The food was GREAT and the staff worked awesome together. I watched Cassy help the bartender out like she was taking over and trying to get everything set for her shift. Not the case she was just helping the bartender out! This helped the bartender do a great job keeping up with the staffs needs and customer needs. Great job bartender. This says a lot about management and the owner. This place knows how to take care of the customer and their employees. Thanks for a great dinning experience. Recommend to anyone! See you next time I'm in town, looking forward to trying the Prime Rib.

Willie Sues’ was recommended at our hotel and it definitely didn’t disappoint. They have a large menu and a great bar selection as well. The food was awesome. Highly recommend the Grilled Salmon. Our server (name ?) was on point! Friendly and personable! Ty. Kevin the manager spoke with us for a bit and we left feeling like we knew him. Great place. Ty for the experience

review_stars 08/30/2021 - Covid's Fault
We went on Saturday evening. The girl waiting on our table was new. She was nice but very in-experienced. Ordered a double Bacardi and coke. She told the bartender honey and coke. After we said it was a type of rum, she brought us a shot of rum in a sifter, no coke.

I saw that they had 12 Draught beers and asked the waitress to get me a large, Draught, blond beer. She told the bartender and the bartender said they don't have blond beers. I said, "you mean you only have 12 "dark" beers on Draught? she said they have other than dark beers. So, basically to avoid the explanation, I finally said, "just pick me one".

A few minutes later, bartender felt the need to come to our table and basically told us that it's not their fault. Covid had caused them to hire new people with no training and that we should be patient.
First off, I was extremely patient. We were not loud, nor were we looking for excuses. We just wanted to order our food, eat, have a decent time and enjoy ourselves.
secondly, stay behind the bar and learn about types of beers and mixed drinks.
finally, don't go blaming all your restaurant's problems on the customers and a virus that's been around for 20 months. it's called adapting, adjusting, overcoming...etc

The food was decent, and the waitress kept our glasses of water full. That's a big plus. probably the reason I gave three stars instead of one, and we gave her a 15% tip for her efforts.

This was like the 10th time i've gone to Willie Sue's, unfortunately, it'll probably be my last. The food is decent, but the prices are high, and for the food being high priced, the service is not up to par, and, it's crowded. There is also a "good ole boy" attitude that is apparent. If you're a regular, you're going to get special treatment.
By the way, if I want to get scolded, I don't need to pay for it, I'll just say something snarky to my wife.

Why 5 stars?

First the bad part. Went to WS’s on November 21st to celebrate my wife’s graduation (finally with all the COVID mess). Of course we ordered Prime Rib. Sadly, it was not up to the quality of Prime Rib WS’s was known for, at least from our last dozen times ordering it the past few years. There was an inedible casing along the bottom I trimmed off then had to do so with my wife’s also. (I know a little about trimming beef.) Inside, the pieces were full of sinew, inedible pieces, etc which made nearly all of both our meals ruined. We told our waitress Gabby. The manager, Greg, came over and I showed him the problems with the prime rib. I told him I was not looking for a free comp and he offered to replace our meals from a new roast. I declined since between the salad,, baked potato, and the little I had eaten of the prime rib I was full enough I did not want to waste an entire meal. Yes, I could have taken the rest home, but I wasn’t thinking right at the time. My wife purposely skipped her salad to enjoy the prime rib so she did ask for a replacement piece. There you go….MEAL RUINED!

So why 5 stars???

Greg knew beef a lot better than I did and he recognized it was not an acceptable cut for what they promised. The replacement meal for my wife was the size of a tree trunk and completely up to WS’s standard. He personally served my wife. The bill arrived since I purposely asked to not have the meal comp’d. Our server, Gabby, treated us like we were her only customer. I asked her to add a piece of cheesecake to go onto the bill. She left to do that and returned saying Greg comp’d the entire meal which would have been a little over $60 without tip.

Too often we get upset and angry when we feel cheated at a restaurant not realizing how lucky we are to be able to afford such a treat. WS’s is a local restaurant and relies on their reputation to keep the seats filled, not like the national chains with million dollar advertising budgets. WS’s took care of us like we were kings and queens and the only customers they had, all in the midst of a packed Saturday night with multiple parties of 10+. I am proud I never raised my voice but simply passed along my disappointment since we had always had perfect Prime Rib at WS’s before. I wasn’t looking for a freeby – just wanted them to know the problem. The manners and professionalism of the staff was astounding.

Will I go back? YES! Will I order Prime Rib? Yes! Why? Because they actually care about what they serve and will make it right if there is truly something wrong, and in our case, they made it more right than we expected. Being full, we filled a bag with leftovers and left a $40 tip.

Lessons to be learned: 1. WS’s is a 5-star restaurant. 2. Always tip your server well regardless of meal quality, COVID lockdowns hit them the hardest. 3. If your meal is comp’d use the savings to tip even more. 4. Appreciate the meal you have and only complain when there is truly something to complain about; if you reach in your pocket and find a handful of change you are richer than 2 billion people on the planet. 5. Splurge on the Prime Rib at WS’s, it IS worth it, and if not, Greg will take care of you.

I love the atmosphere, the food and the customer service. It's a very good family, event or just single relax place.

Not so great. I will say the waitress was absolutely wonderful but the food.....not so much. Scallop dinner 20.00. Three scallops. Husbands pork chop. Raw in middle. Not worth the drive for us

Our family has always had good experiences at WS. The food is good, the waitstaff are attentive and professional. My only complaint is the loud music. Please, turn it down!

Willie Sue's is a solid 4-star restaurant. The pace is nice and open. They have TVs to watch sports and feels new and clean. The staff is attentive and responsive and my waitress knew the menu really well. The food is good, not mindblowingly good, but good. It's not too expensive. I'd say its priced fairly

Maybe it was an off night at Willie Sue's restaurant last evening. Most of the reviews I've read were mostly positive, while some of them from friends were mixed. Whatever, here is our story and opinion.
We arrived at Willie Sue's at 6:30 pm and were seated at 7 pm. The area where we dined was overly noisy and not very conducive to a relaxing night out.
I ordered a Asian inspired marinated ribeye steak, med rare, which our waitress said was marinated for 72 hours. Served with sides of marinated mushrooms, mashed potatoes w/gravy and a side salad my meal was $22.25.
Because of the toughness I had trouble chewing the steak I ordered. In my opinion it was not Prime Steak which is the top cut because of its better marbling. I placed it more in the Cutter and Canner rating which comes from older cattle carcasses and is a cheaper meat used for ground meat and cheaper steaks for family restaurants.
My wife ordered ribeye, medium rare, a baked potato and a side salad. When she mentioned that her steak had too much fat I looked at it and in my opinion the steak was also a cheaper cut of meat. I approximated that 1/4 to 1/3 of the steak was fat. Her dinner was billed at $19.75.
Both orders included drinks of tea and refills in the price.
I would not have minded the prices or the seating arrangement or the noise, but the fact that my steak was not easily chewable and my wife's had way too much fat, changed my thinking.
I don't think we were served the best cuts of meat. But I don't order their meats so I don't know what grade they put in the meat locker.
Lindsay, our waitress was informed about the condition of my wife's steak and did offer to bring her another steak, which was politely declined because that is my brides nature. She is a true Southerner.
Lindsay was extremely courteous and professional in her duties but was a bit inattentive, possibly due to the high volume of patrons in her area, however we rewarded her with a 20% tip.
In summary, we will not be rewarding Willie Sue's with a return visit.
