I love Lutz, it's small town feel, and I love to give the mom and pop shops my business. But my latest visit at Richard's was crazy. My son, having a severe milk allergy and celiac disease, simply asked to see the ingredients to the salad dressing (they don't have oil and vinegar?). They stated they could not let him see the bottle because he could not "tamper" with it. Ok... I can get past that... And say, "ok, can you just take a pic of the ingredients so he can see them?" Waitress comes back and says, "I am sorry, he said no." I then asked if we could just speak to Richard.... I explained we weren't trying to be difficult, but he could go into antaphylactic shock. Waitress comes back and says that Richard would not come out! I said, "seriously? He won't even speak with us?" Even the waitress argued with him through the little window. He eventually did come out, but very rudely insisted his food had gluten in it. It was bizarre! I completely understand when folks can't help us, but I will never understand (and in 15 years, this is a first) someone who was so rude and uncaring. I hope Richard never ends up with a kid or grand kid that has special needs. My sweet and smart son simply said, "mom, it's his business and he has a right to run it how he wants." So true. But that is my son, and I have a right to share how rudely he was treated. I have been there many times over the past 15 years. I will never go back.
