The service was good. The food as horrible. I ordered 10oz ribeye it was tough and full of gristle it wasn’t a 28.00 steak. My daughter got the filet same problem tough hard to chew. Both steaks were ordered medium.Bread was excellent should have ordered just bread.

The food was great! Service was completely amazing!! Tall, slender, head waiter, provided the southern charm we desired and excellent menu choices.

We ate there St. Patrick's Day, and it was quite bad. We had the Corn Beef and Cabbage. The taste wasn't good, the carrots weren't done, and it was served with Mashed Potatoes, which I've never seen it served with mashed potatoes. The food was just warm. The salad and rolls were good. The Bread Pudding Dessert didn't have the Camel, and powdered sugar on it, as described, it was dry, and it tasted like it had been burnt. We have been there before and it was very good, and only because of our past experience, we will be going back.

I want to say how disappointed we were with out meal at the Brass Lantern. We had reservations for 7pm, first we had to wait about 5 minutes till someone came to seat us. Our waiter was excellent! But food was sub-par....lobster not completely cooked and was not hot, butter barely warm, baked potato not hot, mashed was good. Escargo was cold, puff pastry on top was not crisp. Salad was good, shrimp cocktail good but served incorrectly, was on a salad plate where it should have been in a shrimp cocktail cup. Most restaurants that we have eaten in - across the country - when dining time is listed 4 to 9 it does not mean that you are going to be hustled out the door at 9pm sharp. We were enjoying talking with another couple at the table near us and would have ordered a couple more rounds of drinks, well let me tell you the lady was standing at the door, keys in hand, letting us know that she was ready to lock up at 9:05. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. We are local and could easily been regular customers but never again.

I am from Chicago, my wife NYC. We are transplants, and permanent Crossville residents now. We are both accustomed to world class cuisine, and this restaurant exceeded our expectations. The menu is world class, as is the service. We were looking for a sophisticated restaurant to entertain my mother, and her husband that they would be able to return to Chicago, with a good report. I would like my kids to visit, other than that, STAY PUT, you'd hate it here, LOL. This is one of the two restaurants I took them to, both were excellent, hard to discern which was better. NO MOM,, we did not move into Appalachia to become knuckle dragging rednecks, absent of culture! Fine dining is available in the small town South! It IS indeed! We knuckle dragging rednecks that sound like Yankees appreciate it! LOL! Yankee by birth, rebel by choice. Long live the republic, and the Brass Lantern!
