I applied for a job here. I went for an interview and the interviewer asked me to come in for a “training” shift.
When I got there I was told that it wasn’t a training shift but an “interview shift” and that I wasn’t hired yet, this is not standard in the industry, typically unheard of.
The floors were so slick in the kitchen that every moment I was afraid I was I was going to slip.
The kitchen was one of the most unsanitary kitchens I’ve ever seen in my life. Dishes weren’t cleaned properly, soups had been sitting in the heating pot for days, their soda machine didn’t work, in 15 years of waitressing this was the most disgusting place I’ve ever seen. I’m surprised they were still allowed to be open.
After my shift I was told they weren’t going to move forward with hiring (after that I didn’t want it anymore anyway, I had 3 other places that had offered to hire me already, I was just giving them a chance because they were located closer to my house then the other jobs)
Industry standard is to pay minimum wage when someone works a training shift (as I was originally told it was), I worked 7 hours, I actually had to tell the person who was supposedly monitoring my performance that I was only scheduled at this time as she didn’t release me for an entire hour.
They stiffed my on the minimum wage, to this day they still owe me that money. I mentioned it later and they laughed in my face.
They have predatory employment practices and an unsanitary, disgusting kitchen. I’m surprised they haven’t been shut down yet. Don’t go to this place if you want to encourage restaurants to practice this kind of predatory hiring standards. We need to encourage restaurants to change this type of behavior, it’s one of the major reasons why we have a labor shortage in this industry.

Horrible service! Hostess did not greet us with a smile, the waitress has an abrasive personality, and the food took forever to arrive!

Our new favorite spot. Have been to many sushi spots and this is by far the best.

Best sushi around. My two favorite special rolls are the summer and the Geisha roll. Really everything on the menu is amazing.

This is a good sushi place if you are in the Cedar Park area. (I have my personal favorite in Austin.) Chef Lee has achieved some solid team members. It was difficult when they opened.....this area went ballistic and there were new restaurants popping up every day. Everyone was competing for waitstaff for quite some time and you'd see the same servers rotating thru from one place to the next. The sushi 🍣 has always tasted good but the service we found lacking and long waits to eat back then. All seems to have been resolved. We were seated promptly and our server John was very professional and offered us a beverage almost immediately. I was very cautious in my order and asked several questions of John regarding some of their menu items. I had never really taken to sashimi and wondered how their ceviche was prepared. I was glad I did as it saved me from ordering something I would not have enjoyed. I ended up ordering an Asparagus Veggie Roll and a Spicy Crab 🦀 Handroll.
The Hubster had a roll without rice but thinly sliced green apple for the wrap.
They were indeed beautiful and fresh. I dislike Nori so always request soy paper which they used to wrap 3 roasted tender young spears of asparagus, some finely chopped carrots and avocado held together with rice.
