Always good food, fairly priced, a little slow but always hot when food arrives

I ordered food last night as I waited an hour went home to find out we didn't get 1 side. And the spinach artichoke dip was smeared onto a foil hard and horrible tasting. I called to speak to a manager to speak of this matter, which she was rude and unapologetic and just told me she would give me a certificate for the dip (how cheap is that!!) We will never go back to the restaurant or order food from there again! I would not recommend this restaurant!

Best tasting broiled burgers west of the Rincon Mountains, family safe atmosphere, clean kitchen, good service, fair prices.

My Mom and I stopped for lunch, the French Onion soup was beyond terrible, in fact left most of it (like paste) in the bowl. My Mom had Tortilla Soup, also left it in the bowl. The service was poor, and that is being kind.
We had dinner here, about a month earlier, thought it was fair/average. In our opinion the location keeps this place going, not the food or the service.

My husband and I have been going to this restaurant since it opened, and the quality is only going downhill. Last night was the last time we'll go. When we arrived, there were 2 tables covered in dirty dishes, and they weren't bused by the time we left. Our waitress spent most of the evening with her back to her tables, playing with her cell phone. I ordered a taco salad, and when it arrived, it was a joke. There was (at most) a tablespoon of meat, a tablespoon of beans, and (literally!) a pinch of cheese covered with a mound of lettuce. When my husband finally got the attention of our waitress (when she got off her phone for a second), we asked about the size of the salad. She said this was a normal taco salad. We then asked to see the manager. First, the manager said she has worked at Montgomery's for 14 years (it hasn't been open 14 years!), and the salad has always been that small. When I said this wasn't worth $9.50, she didn't offer to improve the salad, just asked if I would like anything else. If you can't make a simple taco salad right, then why would I want anything else off the menu? The manager didn't seem to care at all about the quality of the food, the server's total cell phone addiction, or the dirty tables. I'll never go there again. To all out there who want a taco salad - just go across the street to Nico's, and order the "flying saucer" for $6. You'll get a MUCH better salad, for less money, and the staff there is at least friendly.

Possibly the worst Ruben ever...pricy and s..l..o..w.. service
if any kind of competition moves into Vail, Montgomery's will be in big trouble.

I think this is a great neighborhood Bar and Grill. The food is very good and service as well and a great beverage menu. They try very hard to make the customer feel at home. It is a family favorite place for our family and they are very accomidating with our young children as well. The Stewart Family

This place has come a long ways in the last three years or so. I remember when the waitress who had the tables near the door would hijack you and seat you in her area, thereby starving the waitress on the other end. Prior reviews pretty much captured it. We have eaten there several times in past six months. A very nice experience. Wait staff is positive, cooperative and friendly. Burgers, fish and chips, fajitas, and steak all excellent (ok, one night they gave me a medium burger instead of medium rare). But it was a good medium burger, and I chose not to complain. It is busy and deserves to be. Wife likes chili (I have not tried it yet). For those of you who ate there in the bad old days, I encourage you to give it another shot. They have really cleaned up their act.

It is basic, simple bar food in a nice atmosphere. Nothing special at all about the flavors, but it makes do and is one of the few places in Vail to eat. Staff and patrons are hit and miss.

We had the best meal at Montgomery's. The happy hour specials are great, the bartender was so much fun, and the bar crowd was lively and friendly! It seems like a great local hangout- the staff calls everyone by name. We will be back!!
