This is not the first time I have gone to Gelsosomo's in Chesterton and have had terrible service mixed with horrible management. Not to mention, the food was disgusting this time too. My family and I will never be back again. We sat down in the restaurant at about 8 pm. It took the waitress no time at all to get our drinks and our order, but she was very hard to get in touch with thereafter. Once our pizza arrived, we realized it had american cheese on it and wanted to know if this was normal. Our waitress was within our sight doing her side-work and we actually stared at her for 10 minutes with no response. Finally we asked the hostess about our pizza and she went to get our server. We found out that the pizza had Velveeta on it and she told us it was in the menu description. So we chalked it up as a loss and decided to keep the pizza since it was our fault we didn't read the menu. We were ready to go when she came to our table to answer our question, which was obvious, but our server went back to her side-work. We waited another 10 minutes for her to come back and she never showed. Therefore, I took my pizza to my server and asked for it to be boxed up and let her know I was ready to go. My wife observed that on my way back to the table, the hostess stared me down and gave me a dirty look behind my back. The server stuffed our pizza into a small container, rather than putting our pizza on cardboard and wrapping it, just like everyone else in the restaurant. After receiving the bill I went to the front counter to discuss my bad experience with the manager. As I started to tell the girl at the counter how horrible our experience was, she smiled and laughed. I actually had to tell her I wanted a manager. The manager arrived at the counter along with two upset looking guys behind him. Every time I mentioned our bad service, the manager became confrontational and told me he's never had any problems with his server before. He repeated this at least five times. He and his kitchen buddies made it very clear that complaints are handles with aggression and the customers opinion does not matter. Once I arrived at home to write this review I decided to look online to see if Velveeta was truly in the menu description and it was not. I was lied to by both the manager and the server. I had a feeling all along that they just ran out of one of their cheeses and used whatever they could at the end of the night. Also, after opening the newly wrapped pizza the manager had repackaged for us, to show my neighbor how gross it was, we discovered one of the most disgusting flemmy hockers I have ever seen, right on top of our pizza. We did nothing to these people and never once did we even show that we were upset. We simply wanted to bring the bad service to the managers attention and we told him that, but he insisted that he has never had any complaints before. Perhaps this is due to the fact that his customers are afraid to say anything.
