East side was the best. WAS the best. They have grown too big and can't handle the crowds. Yes help is a problem but figure it out and don't seat people for 45 -60 minutes with out even an appetizers.
The food was good in spite of the bad service so if waiting isn't a problem then go for the food

Along with many classic breakfast choices the Sunday brunch at the East Side used to offer a tantalizing array of tasty fresh fruits, salads, vegetables, roasted meats and casserole dishes that were an epicurean's delight to partake. In fact, "best in the area" would have been an accurate and appropriate description for their brunch. But that was THEN, before covid panic suspended everyone's brunch plans. NOW post covid, brunch at the East Side has resumed on a limited - first Sunday of each month ONLY basis! But aside from that "good news" there is little to cheer about the restaurant's brunch offerings . GONE...are the varieties of food choices and tastes that were actually worth the price of admission. Classic breakfast choices are limited to powdered scrambled eggs, cold homefries, and cold waffles or pancakes with greasy bacon, or sausage. The brunch casserole offerings are multiple variations of the same dish .. creamed or cheesy potatoes w/wo spice, over spiced tomatoes in a heavy cheesy sauce, over baked string beans in heavy mushroom gravy, BBQ meatballs from Shaws, with a sometimes choice between fatty corn beef brisket or thick sliced ham. Regarding fresh fruits, vegetables, and freshly prepared desserts, make sure you get there first! Sorry to say it, but "..things these day Buddy ...ain't what they used to be"

In the past have always had good lunches or dinners —-because of Covid we were not able to cross the border to eat at Eastside. Yesterday we finally went for lunch——its the first time I order and was totally disappointed. Reading it on menu sounded very appealing —-was not at all what I had thought. I’m surprised that this restaurant even serves this. Generally what of they serve is very good but for those who see the turkey burger on the menu——steer clear, turkey is suppose to be lean—- it’s more like a sausage patty.

Our favorite eating place in Newport with a good verity on their menu. Great drinks & nice views of the lake. And the service is good.

Food was pre prepared . Not Fresh. Small to small portions but over 20.00 per plate . Salad bar was poor. Will probably never return.

I went with a friend yesterday, and was excited to go as I viewed their menu before leaving, and couldn't decide if I was going to order the fried oysters or the prime rib. Didn't have to worry - neither of them was on the menu THERE - only on their menu on line. Obviously someone isn't doing their job. Food was OK - best thing there is the seafood bisque. Don't think we'll make another 2 hour drive to go there.
