Riverside Café Staff--W. 13th N.
So much to say about such WoNdErFuL people...I try to always come in after church on each Sunday for lunch..
As soon as you enter the door there is a Friendly Smiling face to greet you...From being seated to leaving the staff at Riverside help to make a persons week be Terrific.. There several that I know and that make me feel so Great it's beyond words...{N,T,S,A,P,A,} Saying all this I still have not mentioned the Fabulous food that is served each and every time I have eaten there..I also try to make it in at least one other time a week to eat or carry-out with my Mom and mentally handicap 67 year old brother whom by the way are treated as NICE if not nicer then myself when they come in..Mom is so relaxed coming to eat there it is one of the few atmospheres each is totally relaxed eating in and really enjoying her meal THANK-you THANK-you ALL
God Bless all of you

Although I only visit the cafe about twice a month because I work evening/night shift. I was able to come for a meal Mon 9-10-12,I had the day off. To my disappointment the atmosphere has drastically changed during the evening. I arrived at approximately 6:30 pm. I had brought my computer to do some work I needed to do. About 6:45pm A tall man with an apron on, short dark hair appeared to be resetting the volume on the juke box as he was asking people behind the counter if they could hear it. I was sitting in the front room at the middle booth toward the back of the room. There were several people in that section. The other room was about half full. After he turned the music up the following occurred. The same man went into the kitchen and proceeded to turn up the radio in the back to a volume than was louder than the jukebox. It was very, very loud. It was playing I guess 80-90s music I think. You could not tell what was being played or could you understand any of the words to either of them. Then to my surprise the same man began to hoot and holler very loudly in the kitchen. Some of it was singing along with the radio and some was just plain noise. So there were three very loud types of noise to the point it disturbed my dining experience. At one point I did ask the waitress if I was really hearing these She confirmed that I was hearing multiple noises. After about 20 minutes,I noticed that customers were leaving. The couple sitting behind me were having to yell at each other to hear each other talk. I have always enjoyed the 50's music and the frozen in time nostalgic atmosphere which I associated with the Riverside Cafe. The food combined with that special atmosphere is why I come. I did tell one of the regular waitresses that after that evening I was seriously considering not coming back. I did not come to a club with very loud music to eat. I came to the famous Riverside Cafe with its special atmosphere but that night I could not tell the difference. At 7:45 the young kid running the cash register came to my table to get my check as they were closing at 8:00. (I know what time you close.) I felt like he was passively telling me you need to leave. All the staff except the older waitress with the long pony tail were all sitting at the counter. She was up working. I debated whether to say anything but felt I needed to let someone know about this. I would hate to see this place close because of losing customers due to the change of atmosphere.
