Great place and excellent food and service!

review_stars 08/15/2011 - taz
Ok to all those people wandering if these are former employees leaving such awful reviews....My Guess is no! Sorry they were just stating facts that they observed. If they would have been written by employees they would have been more factual about things behind the scenes.Like the Black mold throughout the entire place, 20 year old bleached down equipment that supposedly kills the black mold, not to mention our little friends that were left behind when the place closed 4 years ago, when the place closed 4 years ago they didnt clean anything they just walked out and shut the doors, literally food still on plates, ashes still in ash trays, wine and beer still in the basement(but i guess those are better with age) etc ....Now in "maParz" defense i have to say there is no qusetion she knows the business and how it should be ran. Unfortunately she doesnt have the funds to live out that vision!!!!!

review_stars 07/27/2011 - idiot owner
Or she keeps trying to borrow money from people that should know better. Oh yes I'm no ex employee but I do know her business. She's an idiot.

review_stars 07/26/2011 - Any.
For all those who believe that all these bad posts could possibly be ex-employees or whatever is b-llsh-t. I was at the restaurant a few times before making my decision to never return. It seems no matter how many times you visit this place, nothing is consistent. This last time was the very last time I will try this place. Food was ok, definitely not 5 star quality and for how slow they were, no excuse there. Service was poor, I assume from all the different faces that I did see that evening that their staff has changed. That alone tells me something about the restaurant. I can safely say, triple crown was better off left closed and keeping all our old memories of the restaurant as positives then re-opening and trying to call yourself triple crown where it does not exist. Your doors will close soon, there has been quite a bit of speculation that the owner is financially struggling and can't even afford to keep open. It may be a blessing in disguise.

was in restaurant friday evening could not even get a second glass of wine must have been new bartender seemed like washing glasses was more important than serving guests what happened to regular bartenders? probably wont be back

review_stars 07/12/2011 - never been there
Marsh I would just like to way your comment is hilarious. Ma parz that calls herself the owner is never there. The lady doesn't even run her own restaurant. She has no experience in the businesss. I'm not someone that has a grudge and I'm definitely not a competitor but I do manage a business and have hear nothing but bad things about the place. She treats her employees awful and tries firing them because of rediculous reasons. Maybe you should tell your friend people in the surrounding area know more then she would like us to know and she should really watch learn the law. Stop drinking with the employees and run your business and pay your bills woman.

I'm a little confused. The "negative review people" must have been talking about a different restaurant, other than the Triple Crown. From the call, to make resevations, to exiting the restaurant, everything, everyone was exceptional, including the food, lighting, staff and Ms. Parz. The prices were very reasonable, too. It seems that people take a lot more liberty, with the truth, when voicing their opinion, on the web, than they would face-to-face. Here's a little advice, to anyone reading the Triple Crown reviews: take them with a grain of salt. After my wife's and my experience, Saturday, 7/9/11, I can only think that the negative people must be competitors, personal enemies, malicious cranks or just plain confused. Fake reviews, by review-for-hire professionals, are common place, also. Again, I just want to say that dining, at Triple Crown, was a totally enjoyable experience. We'll, definitely, return.

Deborah, thanks for re-opening the Triple Crown. We had a great experience. Great food. Great Menu. Great service.
My Dad has been waiting for the restaurant to re-open and his dreams came true. Thanks again for a wonderful experience.

Terrible. Servise was good but the food was awful. Got a cold undercooked rack of ribs. Can you say re-fire in stead of torching them on the grill? Came back burnt sent them back, asked for new and they came back cold again. The other guests we had with us also received sub-par food for the prices being asked. This place is a joke. The only day i would ever go back is monday, because they are CLOSED!

Audrey,

The restuarant does not microwave any food except for the broccoli. Scallops are pan seared from fresh, not frozen. We have reviewed each server report for your receipt such that we could locate you. If you are a valid guest, please contact the restuarant such that we can correct the situation. I personally visit each table and there were no complaints on Friday June 3rd.

review_stars 06/03/2011 - Audrey
Tonight had to be the worst meal that my husband and I ever had - his rubbery scallops, obviously microwaved and my shrimp were absolutley disgusting and tasteless. NEVER AGAIN will get get one cent of our hard earned $$$. When on earth will they stop the madness and CLOSE? It just isn't the same restaurant that our parents remember "back in the day"

review_stars 05/01/2011 - Janice
We went for brunch and it was wonderful! I understand there has been a new chef in the last couple months and things have improved. We had no problems and all of the brunch food was amazing.

review_stars 04/29/2011 - Laura
I am so thrilled that the restaurant is open again! It was a tradition as a child to go to the Triple Crown Restaurant for Easter dinner. Well the tradition is finally back. We were there for Easter dinner and had an amazing experience. The food was excellent and the service was very friendly. I could not have asked for anything better. I am so looking forward to visiting the restaurant more often.

review_stars 04/29/2011 - Triple Crown Proprietor
Dear Readers...based on some of the false claims written in the reviews below I am compelled to respond as I do care deeply for my staff, our guests, and the community. First, employees remove trash through kitchen loading dock doors, not the dining area as "John" claims below. Second, we are not closing our doors. And finally, Internet media can be a great way to reach a great number of people. However, it can also be damaging as some individuals such as ex-employees or unreasonable guests have a forum in which to spread rumors and lies. There is no question that the first two months the restaurant was opened there were challenges and no new restaurant is immune to them. Those hurdles have all been overcome as the staff has been diligent to meet the expectations of our service standards. Suffice to say, I invite you to join the Triple Crown such that you can experience the world-class cuisine and service for yourself. Make it a great day and we look forward to the opportunity to serve you.

I would like to respond to some of these posts. I eat at the restaurant often and although there were service issues in the beginning and there will always be misphaps, the food is amazing on a regular basis. I have come to know the managers quite well and I find it difficult to believe that they are not correcting the situation when there are mistakes. The current staff at the Triple Crowns does care about delivering great service and excellent food. As far as ownership is concerned, the owner has zero tolerance for poor performance. This woman fired her first executive chef on the day of the grand opening. I was there. Which leads me to my final point, just how many of these reviews are from actual customers as opposed to disgruntled employees.

My husband and I went for the first time since they opened back up.My meal was awful I had alfrado and shrimp.I had no sauce on my noodels and 4 shrimp.I asked the waitress for the sauce, I never got it.She returned awhile later asking how things were.I asked where was my sauce she thought someone else had brought it to me.Way after the fact my lunch was now cold.My husbands steak was tought and cold.On way out manager asked how things were and I told him he said nothing at all and we walked out.Very expensive for the service and bad food.

review_stars 04/07/2011 - Ben
We had a wonderful time, excellent food and terrific service last night. Nothing like some of the other postings claim.

review_stars 03/19/2011 - Michael
I"ve tried it out a few times, to my disappointment. If the food came out looking good and hot, then it might be worth the money for the interesting sounding dishes they have. The place is musty smelling, which isn't appetizing. I've been there when the fire alarm system went off from a performer's smoke machine amongst other strange happenings. I mean, what the heck? Is this place being managed/owned properly? I don't think so.

review_stars 02/13/2011 - Lidia
Took my husband for dinner Sat. evening for a Valentine's Day supper, the worst restaurant that we have ever been at! Food and service were both a major disappointment.

review_stars 02/11/2011 - betty
I have to wonder how many of these "reviews" are true. Mitch who posted he sat by a door where staff takes trash in and out is totally inaccurate. Health codes alone do not allow for this. DUH. I've NEVER been in a restaurant where staff would rather go thru the rest. rather than out the kitchen door. If you are going to inaccurately slam a restaurant, at least make it sound legate! Food and Service were both great when I was there.

review_stars 02/11/2011 - Peter
I was completely blown away by how terrible this place was. The dinners my girlfriend and I ordered were poorly prepared and the service was extremely lacking.

review_stars 02/08/2011 - Anthony
The absolute worst dining experience I have ever had in my 58 years of life!!

review_stars 02/08/2011 - one unhappy customer
I will never forget the rotten dinner experience my wife and I had the other evening. The unprofessional staff and terrible food were just the tip of the iceberg.

review_stars 02/03/2011 - Julia
My friends and I met here for drinks last weekend and we will never be back. The bartenders took forever to make our drinks, and two of my girlfriends drinks were made totally wrong! We were so looking forward to finding a new spot to hang out after work, but Triple Crown will definitely not be it.

review_stars 02/03/2011 - Dave
Great atmosphere. I came for drinks and dessert and the cheesecake was really something special. Best wishes.

review_stars 02/03/2011 - Aaron Langley
Is this place for real? I thought someone was playing a joke on me when my girlfriend and I had dinner here tonight. The service, food, and atmosphere are HORRIBLE. I had to apologize to my girlfriend numerous times for taking her to such a awful place. How does this restaurant even stay in business?

review_stars 02/02/2011 - Aurora Rasalan
I ordered Their Phylly steak sandwich for lunch. It came looking very dry. The roll was definitely stale. When I asked for a fresh roll, the manager tried to convince me that it is not stale, it is sourdough. At my age of 71, I know sourdough and I know stale. My friends food were just as bad. We walked out. The only positive is the waitress was nice though poorly trained. Minus star rating!!!!

review_stars 02/01/2011 - Paul
All the bad comments on here I am betting are being made by the same person or people. My wife and I had a great dinner although my salad came with the wrong dressing they did bring me another one. All in all a great evening!

review_stars 02/01/2011 - Jimmy
I can't believe how BAD this restaurant is!!! My wife and I attempted to have dinner here last Friday, but ended up walking out after waiting over one and a half hours for our dinners. We will never be back, and if you are smart you will never try this horrible excuse for a restaurant.

review_stars 01/28/2011 - Richard John
We made the mistake of thinking the Triple Crown would be an addition to the community!! NOT so We arrived early and was asked Could we be helped? We said Yes dinner for two, Do you have a reservation??? No, Oh u must have a reservation on sat niter at 6pm (no one was there!) I said Thais fine we can go somewhere Else and turned to leave she (hostess) said we can seat you.Yes back in the terrace or the green house room by the back door where the staff goes in and out to empty trash! I was freezing and I tried to be calm ordered a drink and decided that if I was gonna spend that kind on money on dinner it wasn't gonna be there freezing, so asked for my check and paid and left. We were two businessmen from Kent and just wanted a nice dinner. Too bad the owner of the Triple Crown just does not think that was enough .The worst part is I our business we see a lot of people and you can be sure there will not be positive feed back. I only wish it mattered to the owner.

review_stars 01/25/2011 - Mitch
I took a couple clients to Triple Crown last week for lunch and was embarrassed by how horrible our meal was. The soup was cold, and the sandwiches, which took over a half hour to arrive at our table were made wrong. I hope my clients decide to retain my services, but based on my dining choice, I wouldn't blame them if they didn't.

review_stars 01/24/2011 - Kevin
My wife and I had dinner at Triple Crown this past Friday and we were both very disappointed. We started out at the bar, where the service was extremely slow. Once we were sat, the server did not come to our table for a good 10 minutes. The steaks we ordered were both very overcooked. I realize restaurants have bad days, however everyone I have spoke with that has tried Triple Crown has had a bad experience. I hope they improve, but my wife and I won't be back to find out.

review_stars 01/23/2011 - Edward
The Worst dining experience I have ever had!!

review_stars 01/22/2011 - Amy
My friends and I went to Triple Crown earlier this week for the first time and we couldn't believe how TERRIBLE the place was. We were all shocked by how unprofessional the service was and how mediocre the food was. We couldn't believe that it took the bartender over 10 minutes to make our 5 drinks. Needless to say we will never return to the Triple Crown.

review_stars 01/21/2011 - Joan
Had dinner at Triple Crown last night with my family, the only thing I can honestly say is that it was a very disappointing experience.

review_stars 01/20/2011 - Felix
Made the mistake of going to Triple Crown for their Sunday brunch.I expected a nice assortment of breakfast and lunch choices, but what we received was quite the opposite. I felt like we wasted our money!

review_stars 01/19/2011 - Gail
My parents and I were very excited about visiting the new Triple Crown. We were not aware of the buffet, and went to celebrate a birthday. Even though, they could have told us no, they were very accommodating and let us order off the regular menu. Our waitress was excellent and very knowledgeable. We enjoyed ourselves so much, that we are taking friends there to celebrate thier 40th anniversary.

review_stars 01/19/2011 - Diane
We took our parents the other night for their birthdays and I was so disappointed that we will never return. The meals we ordered took forever to arrive and when they did they were cold. The server we had couldn't even open up a bottle of wine properly! I was so ashamed that I took my parents to such a horrible place.

review_stars 01/18/2011 - Anthony
The WORST restaurant I have ever been to period!!!!!!!

review_stars 01/17/2011 - Nancy
I have eaten at the Triple Crown twice now. and have enjoyed the experience very much. I felt the server was most gracious. Maybe the negative comment re: servers, because the customer themselves were jerks, and just looking to criticize. THE FOOD WAS EXCELLENT!!! Loved both meals. The first time in December, the wait was a bit long, but then the restaurant was full!! And our server was very accommodating over the wait. The second time, we were very happy. THIS IS NOT A FAST FOOD RESTAURANT!!! We went with friends and enjoyed the leisure of a good meal!!

review_stars 01/10/2011 - Brian Mitchell
This restaurant is a disgrace to our community. I made the mistake of giving it a second chance after the horrible experience we had in early December, and did I ever regret that choice. I didn't think it was possible, but our second experience was even worse than our first. The young lady behind the bar was incompetent and very rude. I can't understand why anyone would want to waste their money at this restaurant!

review_stars 01/10/2011 - Robert
I have never been so upset with dining out as when I tried the Triple Crown the other day. The staff was clueless, the food was terrible and overpriced, and the musty smell of the building was awful. I will NEVER make the mistake of dining here again. I was so excited for the restaurant to open and now I wish it had stayed closed. If you have the desire to try this restaurant, do yourselves a favor and go somewhere else, I wish that I had.

review_stars 01/10/2011 - John Ropa
AWFUL, AWFUL, AWFUL!!! This place was so bad I thought I was on a hidden video and someone was pulling a prank on me. From the terrible service to the lousy food etc. I cannot believe the disaster that has opened called The Triple Crown!

review_stars 01/07/2011 - The Williams
We are quite surprised at all of the negative comments about the Triple Crown. We have been back there twice since they re-opened and each time the food was fantastic and the service was impressive and newly improved. The atmosphere is elegant and our overall experience was delightful. Keep up the great work and let's continue to support the Triple Crown!!

review_stars 01/05/2011 - Rex
Contrary to all other negative reviews, which, by the way, sound like a second grader that has been scolded wrote.... I must say that each dining experience I have had at the Triple Crown is even more enjoyable than the last. I find the bar staff to be extremely courteous, I am consistently greeted the moment I enter the lounge and am MADE AWARE (if they are busy) that I will be attended to as quickly as possible. Drinks are made very well and with a gracious attitude. The food takes longer on the weekends than during the week but it is always done to perfection. In my vast dining experiences, if I receive a meal that is not up to my standards I alert the wait staff and ask for a version more suitable. In consideration of the youth of this establishment I would say that they are off to a fine start and if all the folks that are so easy to judge and nay-say would relax and give them a chance I do believe that the Triple Crown will be nothing but an asset to our fine community.

review_stars 01/05/2011 - Munroe Fallsite
Whoa! Whoa! Whoa! I can not believe what I am reading. How can our own community be so quick to judge and talk rudely of a business that, at one time, was a pillar of our fine city???? Sounds to me as though everyone WANTS this business to fail..... My family were frequent diners at the establishment under the original owners and had the same experiences as what are being reported now, the only difference is that electronic media has allowed people to become more bold and slanderous when hiding behind a fictitious screen name. Shame on all of you for so easily passing negative judgement and not giving this business a chance to work out the rough spots. Any new restaurant will have areas that need improvement, but must be given the opportunity to do so. We are so glad to have the Triple Crown back open and are looking forward to spending a great deal of time enjoying their fares.

review_stars 01/05/2011 - mellisa hines
i highly recommend that you dont waste your time at this restaurant. food was terrible. young lady server was slow and incompetent, couldn't open bottle of wine, didn't really know menu. this place is a train wreck

review_stars 01/02/2011 - David
This place is a joke!! The staff is incompetent, the food was overpriced and cold, and a simple manhattan was screwed up by the bartender. I would have complained to a manager but one was never sent over to our table. I have never been to a restaurant that was so disorganized and poorly run. The building was even in such poor shape that we spotted broken glass and stains on the carpet. What a poor excuse for a "upscale" restaurant! What a poor excuse for a restaurant period!

review_stars 01/01/2011 - one happy customer
Never having been to the Triple Crown previously, I had no preconceived notion of what to "expect". What we received was an extremely courteous and attentive bar staff. The young lady behind the bar was a great mixologist and even better conversationalist. Extremely witty and continuously smiling, very refreshing as a guest. Our wait for our reservation table was nothing but enjoyable!! After moving to our table the experience was equally as pleasant. Our waiter was very knowledgeable and expedient. It was a very busy Saturday evening and the whole restaurant was in high gear. We observed a well trained staff greet each and every guest and attend to them as quickly as was humanly possible. The food was amazing and worth the few extra minutes we had to wait. We are very much looking forward to our next trip to the Triple Crown ...... with friends!!! Kudos to the new owner and congratulations to a very efficient staff!!

review_stars 01/01/2011 - Mary
I tried to give this establishment zero stars but it wouldn't let me. Let me start by saying if you want to be disappointed and feel like you wasted your money try the Triple Crown. We had reservations for 7:00 p.m. and did not get seated until 8:10 p.m.. We waited at the bar and had to wait 12 minutes to receive our beer and mixed drink. Once we were sat the server did not greet us for a good 5 minutes and after 45 minutes our food finally arrived and it was cold. I could go on and on about this train wreck, but I will just say NEVER eat at this restaurant, I wish we had never tried it!!!

review_stars 01/01/2011 - Debra
I was there twice last week. Each time the food was very good. The service..... not so much. Clearly they have a problem. I hope they solve it because I do want to go back. But 2.5 hrs for a simple dinner without drinks is a little ridiculous. I'm thinking that maybe things get backed up at the grill. For all 4 of us, our meat was hot but the sides were nearly cold.
Please, Triple Crown, get it together!

review_stars 12/28/2010 - Joseph
The Triple Crown was the worst dining experience I have ever had. The staff is very poorly trained, the food was terrible and the place was extremely disorganized. We waited over an hour for our food which came out cold. I asked to speak to a manager, but no one ever came over to our table. I would rather go hungry than spend my money at this horrible excuse for a restaurant. The owner obviously has no idea what he or she is doing!

review_stars 12/04/2010 - Barbara
When we arrived, our reservation had not been written down. We did get a table after a few minutes. Our server was incompetent. She could not even open a bottle of wine. After 45 minutes we asked for a manager and finally got bread and salads. The couple seated next to us had eaten their meals and left, and we still did not have our meals. We asked for a manager, who did not come back for 5 minutes or more. We left after 90 minutes without eating our dinners.
What a disappointment. We used to love the Triple Crown!
