Restaurant Description
The Carovillese Club is the oldest, active private Italian Club in Akron, Ohio! For over 94 years, the Carovillese have been active in the Akron - North Hill community. We pride ourselves over our heritage by hosting community events commemorating our Italian heritage.
This is a place where desperate immigrants, ravaged and seeking refuge from their war-torn homeland in the 1930's and 1940's, found each other and started to make Akron their home. Family ties were rekindled, work was offered, help was ready and waiting. That purpose has long since been served, but in a day when a new generation of immigrants, the Carovillese is the last original reminder of Akron's little Italy. While other clubs remained largely closed to the outside world, the Carovillese Club found ways to reach out and draw in the North Hill neighborhood around it.
The Carovillese Club has various events throughout the year that it puts together, as well as the North Hill Community. Various events are The North Hill Memorial Picnic, The North Hill Christmas Party, The Feast of Santo Stefano, The Sausage Dinner Dance, etc.!The Club's weekly pasta dinners, those dinners, which have been served for 25 years, are largely credited with saving the club from financial ruin. The club started its pasta dinners on Tuesday nights, open to the whole community. $8.00 gets you salad, bread, ice cream, pasta, and perhaps one of the oldest spaghetti sauce recipes in the state, passed down through several generations of Carovillese.
The club cycles other events open to the public. Pizza nights are Friday, Bocce ball tournaments are Saturdays in the summer, scopa/euchre tournaments, and its Italian feast celebration, named in honor of Carovilli's Patron Saint Stefano del Lupo, is held annually.

I highly recommend checking out the Tuesday Pasta Night at this welcoming club known for its delicious food, especially the amazing sauce they serve. The atmosphere is rich in history and tradition, with dedicated old Italian individuals serving up a fantastic dinner experience. For just $8, you can enjoy a complete meal including salad, pasta with sauce and meatballs, plus dessert, making it a great value for a memorable dining experience.
