The food was absolutely delicious, but the only downside was the wait for the chef to start cooking in front of us during the experience. Despite that, the staff was friendly and the service was excellent, making it one of the best hibachi spots in town for me.

A reply from mandi1661 at Fuji Japanese Cuisine
In response to the customer review, we at Fuji would like to offer our perspective on the incident described above. As a manager of Fuji, I would like to apologize for any miscommunication and discomfort caused during your last visit. We want to make it clear that we did not intend to disrespect anyone serving or who has served in our military or their families. We hold our service men and women to the highest regard. I, myself, am a proud family member of two veterans, one being my father who served two tours in the Vietnam War. We are happy to provide a military discount when we are informed of service to show our gratitude for the service they are providing. Despite what Mrs. Bargerhuff suggested, we are in no way “abusive” to the children of customers who come to dine at Fuji. Any misunderstandings of our chef’s performance are regretful, and we apologize greatly. All concerns that were listed are part of a routine, but we are more than glad to make adjustments and exclude certain tricks when we are made aware of special requests. Since Mrs. Bargerhuff has enjoyed several experiences before this incident, we invite her to return to Fuji, and allow us another opportunity to provide the dining experience with which she is accustomed to from our establishment. As stated before, we appreciate all who serve to maintain our country’s freedom and all customers who visit us at Fuji Japanese Cuisine.

Food was wonderful. The service on the other hand was the worst experience we have ever had. We've always had such a good time at this restaurant they have always been very accommodating, that is why we chose to go to Fuji Japanese Cuisine to celebrate my brother's return from a one year tour in Afghanistan. We spoke with the Chef, he knew it was a celebration and he had his 3 year old daughter with him. We informed our Chef, that this was her first time and we would greatly appreciate it if he would not aim the fire in her direction. He understood that a) we were celebrating a veterans return from the war and b) he had his 3 year old daughter with him and he would appreciate it, if he would take care that she not be exposed to flames. The Chef agreed, he said he understood, repeated what we had requested, and nodded his head.
What did he do: 1) He aimed the flames in her direction. 2) Her father, the Veteran we were celebrating coming home, took his daughter in his arms and held her as she was crying. The Chef said he was sorry and he wouldn't do it again. He then said, poor baby. 3) The Chef set the onions on fire and pointed it in her direction once again. My brother asked the Chef once again, to please take into consideration her age and to point any food in another direction. 4) The Chef tossed food to her uncle next to her and got food all over her new outfit....once again, she began to cry. 5) The Chef decided to spray water from a bottle in the babies face....this time, she screamed bloody murder. Her father had to take her to the front of the restaurant and calm her down and wipe her tears away. He brought her back to the table and we tried to keep this as quiet as we could to not draw attention to the 3 year old.
We paid our bill, we tipped our waitress. On the way out, another customer reached out to grab my arm. She said did that Chef squirt water into your babies face? I said, yes he did and he also made sure the fire was directed right at her. She said, our Chef did the same thing too....as she was pointing to her 4 year old son who was also crying.
As we departed the restaurant, I mentioned the situation to the hostess. She apologized but didn't seem surprised at what I was saying. We returned to our vehicle and the baby kept mentioning the mean man with the big hat and that he hurt her and her feelings. My brother took it upon himself to return back to the restaurant and ask to speak to the owner of the restaurant. The owner appeared, my brother stated what had happened. The owners response.....what do you expect, it's dinner and a show!! He actually yelled this to my brother. My brother politely stated, that we scheduled this dinner and had made certain requests on behalf of his daughter and that they agreed to accommodate his requests. The manager, said what are you looking for a free meal?? You want an award for being military??
First and foremost, this was a celebration dinner. In no way shape or form did we ask for a discount or request a refund. Secondly, any business who throws out the statement "you want an award for being military", should be shut down!!!
If you are military, have a military member in your family, have a loved one who has lost their life for our freedom, has served in any branch of the military, we politely request you ban this restaurant. They are not only a disgrace of a company in our community, they are a disgrace to this country. Any company or organization who can treat a military veteran and a child the way the did should be shut down.
We are a fifth generation military family. We do not ask for special treatment, but we do expect respect for services paid for. We do not condone the disrespectful way this owner threw the fact that he was military in his face. If it wasn't for him and the thousands of military men and woman walking the line for our freedom, for our choices, for a peaceful nights sleep, for the ability to work & go to school, we would be a lost nation.
Please spend your hard earned U.S. dollars wisely and do not do business with this restaurant. It's apparently clear, they do not respect paying customers, veterans or children.
