Really felt like supporting a local family owned restaurant in this current economy. Was so pleased with the service, food and atmosphere. Had so much food that I had lunch and dinner the next night. It was so good. 5 stars Amazing.

2nd time going to this place was Valentine's night. We walk in, the waitress turns around makes eye contact and then ignores us.......for 15 min as we are still standing at the door waiting for someone to acknowledge us. The 2 tables empty were dirty. I walked up and asked the cashier if someone could clear the table so we could sit down. She and the waitress said rudely "We will get to it in about 10-15 min". I said, "well that would have been nice if someone let us know that, we've been standing at the door for 15 min". They answered back again rudely 'Well, it's just the 2 of us here and the cooks in the back."

As we continued to stand at the door, we noticed ALL of the tables of people with NO food on them and all of the not so happy looks on other patrons faces. Several people were just throwing their food in to go containers and leaving....they were NOT happy. 1 waitress was supposed to be taking care of the ENTIRE restaurant. People were walking in to order to go food....and ended up just walking out. Several people at a table near the front door stood up and left...telling us that they had been there for quite some time and never even had their drink orders taken. Another couple near us said they had been sitting there for an HOUR and just then got their food. (It was only 6:20pm)

What was ridiculous was that they had a Valentines Day menu on the tables (which wasn't cheap) but yet they had NO staff to facilitate the menu. How romantic right? NOT! The final straw was when another couple walked in after us.....and after another 10 min sat down at a cleared table.....and the waitress proceeded to take their drink order and continued to ignore us even though we had now been waiting for 25 min. RUDE RUDE RUDE can not even begin to describe this horrible restaurant. What a moron the owner must be not to have come in and made sure his/her restaurant wasn't falling apart.....they lost a ton of business last night from people walking out.....including us and all the people who will never go back.....including us. This place deserves to go out of business.

Awesome food and the service was exceptional. The lasagna was yummy. My wife said she love the grilled chicken salad. It was enough for two people. Good job!!!

Absolutely the best food I have ever eaten in my life!! The portions are huge. Be prepared to stuff yourself silly and still have enough food to take home for another meal later. Everything I have tried there is amazing. Best yet, they deliver their entire menu - not just pizzas but we are talking ribeyes, lasagnas and desserts. I recommend this place to all my friend and family.

Ordered a to-go-dinner so it would be ready when I got there and it was. The lasagna, salad and bread was delicious. I could not have made it myself for the price--plus the time saved made it even better for me. I can tell you I'll be stopping by Sal's again and again. My husband couldn't stop saying, "Um-mm! This is so good."

I'm from the Tampa,FL area and now live in Alabama. I never expected to find an Italian restaurant here, but stumbled on Sal's one day and ate lunch there. The food took me on a trip back to Florida - they really know how to cook the Italian way! Yum!

Disregard any old reviews as Sals now has new owners. The food is great and the service is very good. The food is better than the old place and the service is also.

Sal's has always had great food, but since the new owners have taken over, it's been a complete 180 turn around! The food is 10 times better, more flavor, huge portions, the staff is friendly, and the new owner knows exactly what it takes to be a success!!! I will definitely be back and tell everyone I know how great it is now under the new management!

We discovered Sal's about 5 months ago and have eaten here several times. The food and service have always been excellent. The portions are so large my husband and I can order one plate and have enough left over for another meal. Last time we tried the steak and it was excellent as well! We have always been pleased with our meals at Sals.

My husband and I, along with our 4 year old son, visited Sal's Italian Restaurant in Springville for the first time on a recent Friday night at about 6:30 p.m. The restaurant was not crowded and looked to be okay when we went in. After 15 minutes, a waitress finally came up to us to take our drink order. The booth we were sitting at had not been cleaned off from the previous guest and was still dirty. Only after she brought our drinks did she think to wipe the table – and then she asked us IF we wanted it cleaned...ummmm YES! We then ordered (this is after about 25 minutes being there). We ordered the chicken alfredo dish and my son a personal pizza. 30 minutes after that, our salads came. The salads were okay and tasted good. The bread that came out with that was good as well. Then our food came. It was DISGUSTING. The noodles in the chicken alfredo were gummy and tasteless and I'm not exaggerating. There was no salt, no pepper, no taste. The chicken was gross. My sons personal pizza was burnt around the edges, so much so that he would hardly touch it. By this time we had been there for well over an hour. I had to flag down a waitress to ask her to bring our check (mind you there had been no one to come by to ask to refill our drinks, ask if we were okay, etc.). After our check came and we had the payment on the table, she never returned to get it. I had to personally take it up to the register and it was $40.45 for that awful meal. We did take three to go boxes full of the food – FOR THE DOGS! That was the most expensive dog food I've ever bought. Your best bet – Go across the street to Del Sol's Mexican Restaurant. The food AND SERVICE there are fantastic. Should have stuck to what we knew was good! At least now we know not to go back there EVER.

I've been to Sal's twice and have loved it each time. It's a very small, casual place but the staff is friendly. The wait time for food can be long but it's well worth it. Eveything was hot and tasted great. My favorite part may be the BYOB and they will furnish you with a wine glass. I've had the Tour of Italy and Chickn Alfredo. Both were very large servings and were delicious.

I have to say this restaurant gets mixed reviews from me. I've had several dishes from them and most are fine. Nothing outstanding but something you could eat again and feel satisfied. What I DO SUGGEST is ordering their pizzas. Their pizzas are some of the best around and beat Pap Johns, Pizza Hut and Dominos hands down. I am not a bog fan of pizza but I enjoy my share of Sal's handmade pizza's. If you plan on dining at the restaurant be prepared to wait 25-40 minutes just to get your food. I assume the wait is because everything is hand made and to order so don't go eat at Sal's and be in a rush. Many times you come out better to get your order to go and you can relax in your home and enjoy a pretty good meal or a great pizza.
